That's rather cheap

Are my eyes deceiving me or are takealot cheaper than Wootware now? Looking at Ryzen 7000 prices….

Check this guy, not even posting a link.

For a while now. I just slapped a scythe on my for mine for now while I **** around with cooling and cases increasing my knowledge about them. Besides "fun" project".
Yea I reckon the Scythe will still work. The 95' thing seems scary, but it's just so different to what we're used to. Eco mode seems to be a decent way to go, at least for the higher spec CPUs.

My bad!

R6799 plus shipping at Wootware. So ~R600 difference. Nice. I really hope Takealot keeps it up!

All good. You get a pass this time. Next time, you owe us all a coke.

That R600 is impressive, I see no motherboards though.

  • Ryzen 5 7600X – R6,299
  • Ryzen 7 7700X – R8,599
  • Ryzen 9 7900X – R11,999
  • Ryzen 9 7950X – R14,999
Damn, they are quite pricey.

Pretty decent if you ask me, the 5600x hovered around R6k for most of its life and the higher end cpus were as expensive when they were released.

But I hate to see what the dollar exchange rate is going to do to parts prices :(

Why I said I doubt we will see The Massive drop in ZA for GPUS. Probably more in the region of 20-30% drop.

Yea, the CPUs are a bit steep but still reasonable. It's just the whole setup cost that's insane. The motherboards are nuts at the moment, we really need B660 to arrive. And then DDR5 can be decent, but 6000 is where price/performance seems to be best and those are still steep.

Coupled with the ram and mbb costs it’s a no go. Are new gen mbb always so expensive when they release new chips?

No, this generation is exceptionally expensive at the top tier. There are intrinsic costs to DDR5 hardware that make them more expensive but these are quite out there. B660 should solve it somewhat but I don't think we'll see R1500 motherboards again for AMD.

Yup first time I've had an SSD give issues, going to place a return with Wootware, as even in different chassis, machines, laptops it just doesn't work properly.

Can I hazard a guess - it's a Mushkin SSD?

They sell them at rock bottom prices, but it's my only criticism so far of Wootware: They're punting Mushkin SSDs (which appears to be more prone to failure than most) - and I've had several fail on me so rather paid in extra the last time to get another brand.
