Check if the Flash drive is MBR or GPT, it should be MBR for flashback to work.
Extract the download directly onto the USB drive and run the BIOSrenamer while it's on the usb then after move the renamed bios file to the USB drive root.(Don't know why this seems to work for some people over using the BIOSrenamer on the desktop but hey it's worth a try)
Ok after a few tries it worked flashed for a few minutes and then the light went off (successful !)
Or so I thought not sure if I was supposed to but after about 10 minutes of the light going off I tried putting it on
Here a click (not from the power button ) and then it proceeds to do the very thing it did before the bios flashback
Doesn’t turn on now same rgb flash also no sign of doing anything besides the light during the flashback process like on the Monitor
The click is coming from the power supply
And stops it could be the power supply
Unfortunately I have no other one to test
I’d like to make sure it’s the power supply before returning and ordering a new one though
Actually it’s perfect for the cost, saw a refurb motherboard on takealot have some spare ebucks so might do that on takealot
Managed to find a refurbished AM4 B550-F board
Try and clear the CMOS lets see if that changes anything.Ok after a few tries it worked flashed for a few minutes and then the light went off (successful !)

A single click when turning on from the PSU isn't concerning, that should be the bypass relay. The click is coming from the power supply

With quite a few online computer stores, not to be mentioned here, advising me that the 15xx stand off's simply won't work. I think my thermals are looking pretty good! I haven't touched the bios yet, so I'll still probably undervolt this puppy and return some better temps (room temp is at 21)I thought I’d share
While my Corsair H115i stated, 15xx and 1200 LGA sockets only
The stand off’s from the 15xx series worked. Paste spread was even and decent pressure on the cpu itself
My newly installed 12700K was running on idle at 25č, under boot up and web browsing it peaked to 36c.

Try and clear the CMOS lets see if that changes anything.
Turn off PSU and disconnect the power cable from the PSU
Then remove CMOS battery and wait for 10-15 minutes.
Reinstall the CMOS battery and try to boot it up.
If the above doesn't change anything then my next step would be to disassemble everything from the case and remove all components from the motherboard, then put the motherboard on its cardboard box and connect the power to the motherboard then try to power it, check if the diagnostic LEDs now correctly light up for any of the missing components.
If the motherboard included the small PC speaker or if you have a spare from another PC make sure to connect that and listen for any beeps.
If the motherboard diagnostic LEDs are still dead with no other components installed and no beeps from the PC speaker then I would venture the motherboard could be dead.
A single click when turning on from the PSU isn't concerning, that should be the bypass relay.
As long as it just a single click sound when turning on or off, not popping sound or other weird repeating sounds.
Sounds like a short to me. Check if there are any additional stand-offs in the case that could be touching the bottom of the board. The most stupid thing is causing it and I cannot believe this
Took it out the case plugged it in even used the case button wired up and it instantly booted detected cpu and ram all correctly
What on earth is in the case preventing booting up from happening ?
I checked for any obstructions but there’s none

Also check the GPU alignment in the back of the case - had it before where the HDMI port was touching the bracket and causing a short.
Keep whichever stand-offs the motherboard has holes for. Remove all the others. You want to use all of them because it distributes any stresses and loads across the motherboard - prevents anything flexing or breaking under the weight of a CPU cooler, GPU etc.Yea definitely stand offs cause I took the gpu out when testing
Do I remove the stand offs ? Since it’s ATX I think it only needs the bottom and top stand offs and not the middle ones ?

Really good price![]()
