Off topic here but has anyone dealt with the following companies (laptop charger broke and can’t get it from anywhere else ) even Lenovo shop ran out

Laptop direct (laptopdirect.co.za)
Comx Computers (comx-computers.co.za)

partserve stock orginal lenovo chargers.

If you have usb-c laptop can just buy usb-c charger instead also

Tried them unfortunately no stock when he asked for my serial number and guy said 4-6 weeks estimated but could take way longer

Lenovo online sold out no reply from them , I did try everyone reputable so far
 
Lenovo G50-80 - want to upgrade it's RAM - currently has 6Gig. Believe it can take 16Gig. So looking for 2x 8Gig. Sticks.

What RAM do I put in it?

The first 2 were the same entity and possibly operated by Mustek back in the day. Email them and see what feedback you get back? I see that I emailed both and the same guy replied with a ComXpert signature :)

From LaptopDirect's website:

Looking back on my emails I ordered from Laptop Direct in November 2010 (an ASUS N61JV Business Notebook Series). Can 't speak to support as I didn't have any issues within the warranty period.

Had the idea to use a USB-C 100w charger instead, saw someone on Reddit mention it will run fine with a lenovo port to type c and a good 100w type c charger

Only gripe cannot game on the laptop but no sweat as have the gaming PC for that

Any recommendations for a 100w PD Type-C Charger around the 1-1.5k range (Saw takealot has the McDodo range but not sure on the brand)

I've bought from Comx about 10 times since about 2005. Last purchase was about a year ago. Always had good service. They are based in Centurion and pick-ups can be done in person.

Thanks managed to get it from Lenovo directly even though they said no stock on the website

Unfortunately laptop is 135w tried a friends 65w charger and charged while powered off but as soon as I turn it on stops charging
 
Price increases coming, just got the email :(


Micron/Crucial pricing will be increasing, most likely today and will continue to do so over the next four quarters.
These are hectic increases combined with possible stock restrictions.

Manufacturing priorities are changing as AI enablement becomes more demanding on wafer manufacturing.
As a business, we are doing our best as pricing becomes unstable and stock certainty becomes a challenge.
We’ve been through this before
