How good are these - use case is for a 1st year uni student, will it last the 3 years at college?
Um, I don't like them. It's difficult to give an objective answer as subjectivity is going to get the better of me. The 4GB RAM (not upgradeable) bothers me, but it seems fine for quite a few people.

My wife does sublimation printing, vinyl cutting, etc. I upgraded her from an AMD Phenom with 4GB RAM and a 500GB SATA SSD to a Ryzen 5600 with 16GB RAM and a 500GB NVMe drive and she swears she can't tell the difference, so it really does come down to individual use-cases.

Objectively, the CPU is fine, the storage is fine, and the screen is surprisingly fine for the price (FHD at that price is unheard of). Objectively, non-upgradeable RAM is an issue. Subjectively, 4GB might be ample.

Thanks... i'll be better off getting a refurbished dell then i reckon...

You just set your budget, choose any preferences you might have and click go.

I choose R45K and I get a 7800X3d and 4070.

I choose R50k and I get a 14700K and a 4070Ti. (R2k extra for the Ti).

Is it a good time to build a new PC at the moment or better to wait for next gen CPU's? Was thinking AMD but if the next gen is around the corner it might be better to wait a bit

Next-gen AMD CPUs will work in current boards with a BIOS update, so no point waiting really. The only potential gain is a dropping of the prices of current CPUs, but that's a tough one to predict. It really depends on how urgently you need a PC. There will always be something newer dropping soon, if you wait for the latest thing you'll just never buy a PC.

Rather look at motherboard trends than CPU trends, CPU's are what everyone hyper focuses on but motherboards often are where the performance is killed.... didnt use to be that way but now it is.

Guy from Facebook bought 85k pc from evetech, evetech did not bother to update bios to make it even post! So they did not test the pc at all lol

People like him are the reason Evetech are still in business, despite getting bad service in the past he still placed an R85K order.
Then he has the gall to say "Welcome to the new South Africa boys and girls, service delivery is dead"

No my guy, there are companies providing excellent after sales service, you just aren't buying from them...

I buy things from evetech I can't find anywhere else for a decent price. I mean twice in 4 years so I have no real complaints. But other pc hardware it's wootware

This is looking extremely attractive on paper (except perhaps the contrast ratio) but what can it be compared on? WootBook monitors? I am getting paranoid Mustek flashbacks...

Was great deal when launched at 4600, I did pre order at 4600 waiting for 20th May for collection

I hate the gamble of pre-orders it usually amounts to a prayer of "please be good please be good please be good please be good"

Just recieved my invoice for my wootvision, hoping the stock arrived early. I did select collection so can fetch it asap

Would love to hear your feedback on it as it's quite good looking specs for a great price.

I was sorely tempted to order simply because it's such a great deal but just couldn't justify it with an LG OLED infront of me and LG 2783a on the side :(
