The sequel is not titled F.E.A.R. 2 due to Vivendi's ownership of the F.E.A.R. name.[2] However, the follow-up will stay in the game's existing universe, retaining the original storyline and characters, although it won't recognize Extraction Point or Perseus Mandate.[3] Monolith Productions will require a new publisher for the game, since they were purchased by Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment in 2004 while development of F.E.A.R. was under way, after which Vivendi Universal was dropped as publisher.[2] Monolith has revealed it will be released in 2008.[4]

The game was shown for the first time at the 2007 E3 Expo with an Xbox 360 demo. The demo footage showcased the game's enhanced Jupiter EX engine, and reveals glimpses of the plot, starting with a cutscene of Michael undergoing surgery overseen by Genevieve, with unexplained complications, later revealed to be linked with Alma.[5]

In an interview with John Mulkey, the lead designer for Project Origin, he describes the game as being "a more open environment" further noting that "a destroyed city opens up an incredible amount of opportunities." Also, Mulkey mentions that the enemies will be much more varied than in the previous game

Its the sequel to FEAR
OMG apparently it wont recognise Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate.
So why did I play it then?
Also It seems you wont play the unknown guy you've been playing all along.
You'll be playing some guy named Michael Becket from Delta team. Well atleast this (hopefully) means the protoganist will have the ability to reply when people talk to him. plus you'll see his face YAY!

You should really play it its amazing.
the one crap point about it though is that i could play it very long, only a few minutes then im forced to turn the game off... coz its not good when you play when feeling paranoid(ever seem somebody waste bullets on his own shadow?), not good for the heart either
