The PERFECT first date...

If you want to try something 'different', but again, depends on what kind of interests she has, try taking her to Salsa Dancing Lessons.....it's actually alot of fun, and as an added bonus, there is direct contact with her the whole time throughout the lesson, which kinda helps to make things a bit more comfortable (@ least for me it did). I can recommend a good place in Lonehill. And after the lessons there is a pub/restaurant at the venue where you can sit back and have a nice chilled evening....the place is called 96, on the corner of Witkoppen and Main and they do beginners classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays....i think. If you on facebook, search for a group called HNS Salsa and just confirm.

i would enjoy this kind of date :) Although i can not dance to save my life..

I second the Teazers thing. Was going to post it myself.

But it depends on the woman in question. Make sure it is close to either your or her place, in case the date goes really well - minimize the driving time. I like to do things differently. My dates are more of a day-long outing and I prefer to do the dinner thing at my place, so I can cook. I always encourage her to cook with me then as well which can be a lot of fun and the perfect place to fool around, and show off a sense of humour if you have one (guy in the kitchen, she can come around and cook for you again, now where did I put that chain? - all in good taste though) :D

All that I can suggest is that you make it personal - don't fall for the cliche'd ideas. Be unique. She has probably been on tons of dates befre and you need to be the one she remembers and thinks about when she gets home. And don't call the next day. Send a text that night, then leave it. Be vague about when you will speakt o her next but emphasise you enjoyed it and want to do it again some time (only if you get lucky of course)...:D

Trust me, the roles have been reversed. The days that a women sits by the proverbial phone, waiting for a guy to call .... pffft, that is so over.

Before you can say "threesome", she has been asked out on a date by someone else. Or she has simply decided that it is not what she wanted after all.

@hxc87x

Looks like you've studied Mystery's book a bit ;)

Love the tag!

I'd say the perfect date depends on the girl in question. If you're BOTH into extreme sports etc, then sure, go for the extreme route. But even so, it's not really such a great FIRST date. For me, first dates are usually a time to start to get to know the person, so you want to be able to talk without being constantly harrassed by other people or being interrupted or distracted. Coffee somewhere (you mention a bird garden) is a good start, but if neither of you are into nature or that kind of thing, it doesn't leave you much choice to change direction if it's not going so well.

Some nice cafe would be a nice place to do "coffee" during a weekday.

actually only half way through it but i've read neil strauss' (style) The Game which gave me a bit of an idea. i've always been pretty good at these things anyway but theres a lot i dont know... yet. hence the reading.
Mystery method FTW. next one im tackling is the annihilation method.
damn interesting to read as well, especially the psychological explanations and evolutionary theories.

Trust me, almost no one going for the beginners classes can!! That's the fun part, everybody just messes it up. We had the best time just cracking ourselves laughing!! But we eventually ended up doing 2 more beginners classes and 3 Advanced classes in the following weeks.....The nice thing is that you can do these at your own time, as they offer beginners and advanced classes every week! So if you miss a week, you just go the next one...

It looks lovely now (minus the lack of capital letters where required, but I am not going to press you on that) :)

its not about the presentation of the information, its about the quality ;)

any comments on my grammar? :p

Ed Zachary. Thats why I try to be different, in a good way. I now no longer ask for threesomes on a first date...

Damn - i am impressed. You all sound so romantic!

Offer to take her out for lunch during the week, pick her up from her office and take her to a good restaurant. Can't go wrong. Make sure you order wine. :p

Then drop her off and ask, what's for dinner?

@DJK & Others, I also cook! (very well ;)) Works a charm on the ladies :D

Some other ones I've also tried....most of them were successfull :D

-Wine Tasting
-Photography Class
-Driving Range
-SA Brewery Tour (This one worked, but I realised soon it shouldn't have  She drank everyone under the table)
-Massage Parlour
-Drive-In on Hans Strydom
-Lion Park outside Fourways
