The point of Talking Points?

Yes, well...... It's been pushed out.

For those interested, there was a specific counter that were going to do this but another product we launched used it, so they're looking at making another plan.

The last time I checked you could get phones with a unique safety feature - they were so basic no self-respecting thief would steal them!

There are many people interested, but anyway, what is a "counter"?

I did not pick up what it's being used for now, but I suspect it might be the second month's worth of roll-over.

I've heard these kinds of phones referred to as "Joburg phones". :D
 
In 14 years lost two cellphones through theft, etc. Camps Bay and Blouberg...
 
Just thought of something else - I have almost 1800 points. What's stopping me from advertising my sim card on this forum and selling it to an SMS junkie? 2500 SMS must be worth something to somebody?

those points are useless Anton, you wouldn't even get R100 for that SIM, When trying to sell it for SMS'es

best would be to get a phone at 2000 points, sell it for R300, and buy a 1GB Bundle.

I think it's so that they get a chance to make you sign some sort of contract... they won't add that on the website.

plus, added schlep means less people will bother actually going to a vodashop to look at the phones = less phones given away.

I redeemed some talking points for an SMS bundle, and on vodacom4me I can see an "Available Promotional SMS Bundle", but if I use *111# on my phone to check the SMS bundle balance I get the message that I don't have a bundle.

How can I keep track of the remaining SMSs from my phone?
 
Don't tempt them, otherwise they'll give us (up to) 30 extra days to use them and call it 'rollover'.

Or.... When an award is issued the last Talking Points received will be used first, so you will inevitably lose the first (oldest) talking points received.

In a nutshell: Let us convert talking points to data bundles. People who have a SIM simply for data currently have no use for talking points.
 
the truth of the matter is, this will never happen. jannie, the person that tried to spearhead this idea has left to become CEO of iBurst....so sorry guys, it's over.

Hi AntonF and Keeper

As you know i did not know of this suggestion ? However this is a brilliant idea that will come in to place in October (and am not going to commit to a date)

But your queries have not gone unnoticed , however whenever there is a suggestion put forward by anyone please bare in mind i will try my utmost to get it to the right ears.

However there are business rules when putting anything in place and cannot be implemented over night , in this case with the talking points converted to buy bundles .Our next hurdle is for the call centre to differentiate between you converting the bundle and one that was bought by yourselves.
