Porsche reveals its best-selling models for the first half of 2020
Porsche says it delivered a total of 116 964 units worldwide in the first six months of 2020. This figure is some 12 percent down on the corresponding period in 2019, thanks to the impact of COVID-19.
So, which were the Zuffenhausen-based firm’s best-selling models? Well, the Cayenne was the most popular overall with 39 245 units sold, followed by the smaller Macan on 34 430 units.
And the 992-generation 911 range? Well, as many as 16 919 units were registered during the first six months of the year. The all-electric Taycan, meanwhile, managed 4 480 units despite not having launched in all markets in that period.
While Porsche has not released sales figures for the 718 Cayman and Boxster twins nor the Panamera, the two model ranges accounted for nearly 22 000 units by our maths.
In the Asia-Pacific, Africa and Middle East regions, Porsche delivered a total of 55 550 units in the first half of 2020. With 39 603 deliveries, China remained the German manufacturer’s largest single market in volume terms.
Some 32 312 units were sold in Europe, along with 24 186 vehicles in the United States.
