The Positives in SA thread

I'm quite surprised and a little disappointed that no one has mentioned that SA are the rugby world champions. Surely that's a positive?!!

In fact our proud and dignified sporting heritage is a big plus as far as I'm concerned.

South-Africa will be like Eden someday, we will all walk out butt-naked from it.

Hmmm, sleeping in the shower, with a potato up ye nought!
Cures everything and makes you more clevererererer.

The only time I really appreciate South Africa is once I've got home/am on holiday and am sitting while the sun is going down in the blue, blue sky drinking a can of my favourite beer while overlooking the sea/a river/our beautiful mountains/my garden.
sounds like a good way to spend time. life is meant to be enjoyed, after all.

I just wish reality didn't keep sinking in the next morning, after dreams of sugarplums dancing in my head.
so do I. reality here is crap these days...

yea!

everything's sunshine & roses!

keep telling yourself that; maybe it'll become true

Theres millions of positives in this country...HIV positives!, look on the bright side at least you can be guaranteed this country is going for a ball of **** and you have a chance now to get out before its too late.

without sounding too negative, but lets look at reality,
most of the things mentioned here are things that arent ruined yet and i emphasize yet.

I remember a topic similar to this a while back and someone mentioned that a positive point was that we had the cheapest electricity in the world - well now we all know why.

been catching up to this thread today. and yes, I agree. especially when reading the posts of some of the people here, some of whom have been banned, one can see the mentality of the people who now "lead" this country.

it's sad, yes. it sucks, yes. but face it, even the positives we can still list are only gonna keep that long.

Positives related to geographical accidents are petty and, well, useless.
Really.

I, for example, love Antarctica - but from FAR AWAY. All that ice, it even sounds quite cool to live underground, knowing it is -50 outside. But not for a second will I live there for long!

The only way to be positive these days is to be positive that something negative did not occur. e.g. I'm glad I did not get hijacked on the way to work this morning.

lol...geez....THATS bad, if you have to start thinking like this to be positive

Well, the water mains across the road burst.
Within 2 meters of the power box.
And within 30m of the Telkom box.
And they did not manage to damage anything while fixing the pipe.
So, that is positive.
