Playing India in India IS a tough prospect.Going to be a tough tour. Huge ask touring India without the likes of JP, Imran, Hash and Dale. New coach too...
Markram has to put his spin demons to bed and soon. India spinners will chew him up on the sub continent.
Must say, not very confident going into this...
New youngsters will be a breathe of fresh air though. West Indies and Sri Lanka have had a bit of that lately, even though they were at home. 2016 a young Sri Lanka molested a tough Australia in Sri Lanka. Few saw it coming. A young West Indies bruised England in England in 2017, then went on to thump them early this year.
I thought Bavuma was solid in 2015 when he was brought in rather surprisingly as an opener. Hamza and Muthusamy will be at home against spin. Elgar stubborn as always, and Faf will fight. You never know with QdK and TdB - a century won't be surprising neither would a duck. Markram has averaged about 33-34 in the second half of his career. I don't see that improving.
I think Maharaj, Piedt assisted by Rabada and Muthusamy (not sure about Philander), will ensure 20 wickets. I expect better returns than 2015.
