Just like a persons heritage, its not nice to belittle a persons roots. But Tibby, thats a double standard for you as you were attacking ME 'cos I lost faith in the SA Government. The original argument was about the 'race card' being played all the time. It has nothing to do with beliefs - its got to do with Ethics. Go Ahead, call me a racist, you know you want to - and then put yourself in the same boat as Yengeni for the same double standards.
I, for one - dont ridicule any Cultural beliefs, show me ONE instance where I have done so - I respect all beliefs and I expect some tollerance in return. But its more and more common to use the 'Cultural' excuse to justify crimes, and when the person gets busted - its a RACIST affair. Slaughtering an animal -humane or not- for rhe apeasement of of the Gods is not my affair, but slaughtering in a suburb a high population density is where I get annoyed. Even the Druids have de-marked sacrifice areas where their offerings are slaughtered. If Yengeni went to his ancestral grounds, ands slaughtered with the ancestral implements - THAT shows respect to people.
