The rich & selfishness

Grow up please. You're more than welcome to part with your change, I'm not going to. I owe them fsckall.

with maturity comes the realisation that charity, whether donating to an AIDS orphanage or a few rands to a beggar, does more good than harm

your 'its mine and i owe then fsckall' goes to show, how you, and others are simple spiteful human beings content in allowing others to suffer

and no, im not a bleeding heart liberal with sunflowers painted onto my hippy mobile

Well, it seems the recession has hit even the beggars. You give them R5 they gonna give you that strange look, like "are you for real?"

Thats why I won't even bother. I say, fsk 'em as well!

No, naivety comes to mind when I hear how people are making themselves feel better by giving handouts to beggars. You are making them used to begging, and that's the life they will follow, because they can always depend on some fool to give them money for doing nothing. The only thing I will give to a carguard or security guard is food/cooldrink when I bought too much at McDonalds, etc.

@ Op

1) You seem to be associating rich with selfishness. There are plenty of selfish and inconsiderate poor people around as well

2) Why on earth are you ashamed

He has a very low self-image and is looking for some praise.

I'll give to car guards most of the time (even though they're not actually that useful) and occasionally someone selling a big issue or something, maybe even those guys that stand with rubbish bags on the side of the road. However just plain begging? not a ****ing chance!

The problem with those black rubbish bags, is that there's hardly ever 100 in that pack, as advertised. :erm:

I do give to people at robots if they are physically disabled etc. but just pure beggers , no i dont.
Car guards , my strategy is the following ...
When i park my car and there is a guard , i ask for his name and i show him which car is mine.
When i come back i ask the guard to show me which car is mine, if he can then he deserves to get a tip. If he cant then he wouldnt have known if someone tried to steal /scratch etc my car so he was not doing his job = no reward .

Lol I have done that before, as I was walking towards a group of cars (mine was one of them) this oke came sprinting from 200m away where he was sitting with his mates and tells me how he was watching my car. I asked him to point out my car and got a rather confused look some thing like this .

well last year in Jeffreys this one 8 year old came to me asking for small change, I said no, so he tried to grab my wallet in my right pocket, little did he know I am left handed and gave him a good PK behind his ear.

Beggars are scammers. They impose interaction on a person, with or without permission. This interaction, 99% of the time will result in one of two endings. You parting with some money, or them punishing you for not doing so, by using psychological techniques to invoke emotions of guilt, intimidation and discomfort.. They are mostly dishonest, ignorant, mean and very bitter people, and the only time they do not show you their true selves is if you give them money. If you do, they reward you for your "good" behaviour by pretending to like you (it's all noticeably fake as if they think we are idiots, and they do), if you don't they punish you for your "bad" behaviour, as if you were a dog that needs to learn how to act. That is how they treat people, that is what they think of people.

Charity prolongs and perpetuates that which it aims to destroy. Poverty.
Begging is a growing business, that is proof enough, if you want to kill the business stop funding it.

Most of those street kids are part of a begging syndicate anyway.

I remember the one day I was stopped at the lights on the offramp of Canal Walk I saw one of the half naked kids who begs there pull a bag from the bushes and putting on his new tracksuit and Nikes. Looks like begging is a rather lucrative business. I suppose it pays better than school at any rate.

I think I'll let the suckers out there pay for his designer clothing. If that makes me selfish then I think I can live with myself.

A colored woman who works with me, and makes a decent salary told me she caught her son begging at a shopping centre with one of his friends.
She gave him a good hiding. :)

why are they arrogant ?

When I get near a robot I close my window and try not to even look at the beggars. Most of the time if they see you looking at them they will walk towards your car.

My mom once gave one of these beggars a bread and the **** threw it back into her and said he asked for money not food. :erm:

But I do support my local SPCA and the Animal Anti-Cruelty League.

Agreed.

Interesting the beggar throwing the food back..

Never happens to me...as i only give food......been a body builder i carry a sizable amount of nutrition with me on a daily basis and share some of my eggs and protein bars and fruit with them.

In essence its about making a small difference in the other persons life no matter how small and insignificant.

Peace and prosperity to all;)
