The RTX 4000 Thread

I think LTT may have messed up their review, because some things don’t add up, and they couldn't test DLSS 3.0 where all others could.

The question most people would want to know is that the 4090 draws less power at its high than the 3090 Ti and 6950 XT. It is also generous in games compared to its predecessors and when the FPS is locked it is most optimal.

Then… it sucks at 1080p, but that was to be expected. Best to wait on the 4070 and 4060 should you wish to game at 1080p.

At 4k,

I didn't know about this thread and posted the review videos in the announcement thread, but here are slides produced by Guru3D,

Igor Wallossek is a big critic in the computer hardware space, and him headlining an article like this,

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition 24GB Review – Drink less, work more!

says a lot. He also gave it 4.9/5.

How do you calculate energy cost per hour for a GPU ? Does it come with its own Nuclear reactor ?

The part not being discussed,

AIB cards which may not be reviewed at this time, a brand representative did say that there is room to optimise the power draw. I am curious whether IAB partners may look into providing tools to make such tweaking more accessible. To limit the FPS per title seems to be the way… but then who here is going to purchase a 4090?

I am sure the two 4080 will be conservative, particularly the 12Gb version. I personally am looking to the 4070 and whatever AMD may have in that segment.

What I can say is that we are moving into ray tracing adoption, some games might totally depend on it and global illumination.

Saying this, the latest gaming consoles might be technically challenged now, and I doubt Apple will be able to measure themselves up. Nvidia made a huge leap now, and AMD better step up.
