The SA Politics Thread Part 2

To make things easy and to stop all this they simply should not put a up any candidates when they don't have the required numbers as a coalition. It will augur well with their stance on the EFF. Saying they are not interested in working with the EFF but putting up candidates secretly hoping for the EFF to vote for them sounds slightly hypocritical.
IMO they're kind of between a rock and a hard place.

Either they don't form a coalition when they have the chance (minority or majority) and get scolded by everyone.
Or they do form one but rely on EFF in some way with the chance of EFF throwing them to the wolves, and getting berated by everyone when it eventually collapses.
Or forming a coalition involving EFF will not sit well with either EFF or DA voters or ASA voters (presumably), and getting berated by everyone.

Honestly, the only muni the UF will hold in GP will be TSH in that case and of course Midvaal but that's not a coalition.

So either way. they'll get scolded for some reason.

Coalitions are a new thing. It'll take some time before it becomes "normal". Everyone will be blaming everyone...

We've entered a learning curve tbh.

And again, there are multiple UF coalitions outside the metros that work. Or don't they count now since they aren't metros?
Our very first government of national unity was a coalition so not new imho, we've been having it since the dawn of the "rainbow" nation.

It just seems like they have learnt nothing and actually don't give a **** about us the people and all about the politicians wanting to eat.

This idiot should have been prosecuted for all the deaths. There will be no fallout due to Phala phala.

Because nothing happened when hundreds of thousands died when this idiot was dilly dallying rollout of ARV's and his minister promoted garlic & potatoes.

If he had an ounce of sense he'd keep his mouth shut

Sadly he lacks even that

Meh. I disagree a bit.

It's still a new concept. Coalitions weren't really mainstream until 2016. We have local coalitions, and in 2024 we'll probably have our first ones in provinces and the first national coalition government since GNU.

Only 133 households were receiving free basic services under the ANC government? Am I the only one who finds that hard to believe?
Do you see what I am seeing? :p:p
