Had to explain to my domestic this morning why there is so many power cuts and that it's going to get worse in winter. She tells he "everyone says it's enough of the ANC. We must try someone else... that Steenhuisen, guy.. I listen to the radio a lot - we should vote for him"

She went on to say people want to vote DA (In her circle)

Not what I expected, but I just told her "I don't care who people vote for, as long as its not ANC / EFF"

Interesting times ahead for next year.

I think this dynamic is playing out in many areas of the country in all honesty.

Whether it ends up with a groundswell of people voting for other parties or a mass stay away for ANC voters remains to be seen.

True. No one really knows what will happen on voting day. There are many polls and some of them even contradict themselves. But the writing is on the wall for the ANC; that much is clear.

The question is what are the ANC voter going to do with their vote? In KZN the IFF will gain ANC voters, the EFF will get a few ANC voters in the northern provinces but I do not see many ANC voters start voting for the DA, they would rather not vote. The DA's other problem is the PA starting to gain the brown vote.

The Patriotic Alliance is dying, there's absolutely no reason to worry yourself about them.

That could prove very persuasive, so much so that she could forget all about the Sangoma who will sniff out all those who don't vote for the Liberation Movement, I hope she will be ready to deal with the consequences, she still has to go back to her own people, right?

Here is my prediction. If DA goes above 25%, it will be due to John's irresistible and world class leadership. If it doesn't, it will be a win for KFC.

KFC? but no, surely KFC want WMC to win? Or have I misread the situation again?

In all seriousness though, I think any major leap in the DA support numbers won't necessarily be down to John, but a very big chunk of it will be down to people being disillusioned with the ANC and also seeing that the DA generally does run things better than the ANC.

We can all be hopeful that there is a small maturing of the voting approach in this country, but it will only play out on voting day really.

PA is a dead-party-walking. No one needs to pay any attention to them.
