Taken seriously by other parties? Lol, who cares about that? The core business of being in politics is to get people to vote for you, not to be taken seriously by other parties.

The EFF has 10% of the vote, how much does all the parties being taken seriously by other parties have?
If people don't take you seriously why would other parties want to work with you and never mind people vote for you? Even more so when you've proven to be unreliable as a coalition partner to all sides (both ANC and DA).
You are living in ideological dreamland, I would have thought by now you would have woken up after your vivid dream of the PA dying after telling the DA to F off.
I still see that comment hurting you. How come, Champ? Why has it demolished your studio so...?

If which people don't take you seriously, John and Zille? The only people you should care about is your voters, you will find that as soon as you have the votes others have no choice, especially when they need your share of the vote to govern, did the DA not take the EFF seriously when they gave them the metros? Yes they did and happily governed, did they not take them seriously when they told them your time is up and kicked them out? Yes they did.

That is all you need in politics, real power, not this imaginary nonsense of being taken seriously like all those useless parties the DA take seriously, just look at what a spectacle Mashaba has become, but the DA take him seriously more than the PA, right?

Forget about other parties taking you seriously and concentrate on your voters, the other parties will come to you and beg, you will put your demands in the table and they will give you what you want, when they start their nonsense you yank your vote.

You really need to catch a wake up ndoda, things work differently in the real world.

It's quite sad to see how these political parties think this is all a game. Like a high school Life Orientation project you don't really mind failing as long as you have fun with your buddies. Just put a puppet mayor into the (currently) most important city in SA. So we can continue to steal. The problem is that there really don't seem to be any consequences to it. Will the ANC and their alliance partner's support crumble due to this insane level of disrespect to the electorate? This results in actual destruction and mayhem in people's lives.

If there aren't consequences, then what's the point of it all? Might as well just admit the democratic project failed and move on with your lives somewhere else!

Highly unlikely is being too kind, it's impossible. The only party that had a chance at this is ActionSA, they were the only party that appealed to voters from all the big three parties, ANC, EFF and DA, unfortunately they blew the chance to be something relevant so they will forever be the party that assists the DA to further it's goals.

Action SA can still recover if they play their cards right but Mashaba does need to put his ego aside and find a young successor. He is not young and his right-hand man Beaumont isn't leadership material though he is excellent as a propagandist and can serve in such roles for many years.

When economies are ailing, things like reducing immigration becomes popular and Action SA are the only party that campaign hard on that.
