Looks like it is a temporary thing, they were supposed to have those discussions with the AG before they announce the exemption, poor form from Godongwana

 
So wtf did the dumb **** do it in the first place?
Apparently because :

Treasury said that this was done for several reasons, but primarily to protect Eskom’s credit rating and audit opinion, which could have disastrous knock-on effects on the company’s financials and loans were they to move in a negative direction.

Dumb. They just have to get rid of C-O-R-R-U-P-T-I-O-N but they won't.
