Those are the only two options.
If you don't want to give option 1 another try then it is option 2 until the next election.

Both are shít. You have to pick one

You forget Option 3 where the DA (and Coalition) decide to work with the PA again, and the PA stab them in the back again and just prolong whatever bullshyte is going on.

That is option 1.

C'mon man.

No its Option 3, and if the DA pretends that Option 1 exists and is viable, it will become Option 3 in a matter of weeks.
So you agree with me that your stupid made up option 3 is the same as my option 1. Okay. Good talk buddy.

You still only have 2 options.

Do this option 3/1
Or let the ANC run things till the next election.

No, what I'm pointing out is that you're leaving out a vital portion of what Option 1 entails, which makes it a non-viable option.

Geez you are a moron and now trying to make a semantic troll argument out of nothing.

I already acknowledged that the PA would betray the coalition again. It is very likely.

There is still only 2 options.
Partner with them or don't and let the ANC run things.

Paywalled but Peter Bruce alleges that Russia is paying for the ANC staff salaries - this has been my concern as well. Likely to also support the ANC financially in the election next year.

Why? I’ve seen too many articles asking why we would jeopardise our vast trade ties with the West to support Russia. The obvious — the only — answer is that the Russians are financing the ANC. A few months ago the ANC couldn’t pay staff salaries. Now it can?

Our diplomacy is a joke on the international circuit. Our embassies are headed predominantly by political appointments now, used by all ANC presidents to reward or console fallen comrades. They all learn the same script: Palestine, the Western Sahara, racism, imperialism.

You have to wonder how President Cyril Ramaphosa’s team of emissaries to the US are doing. Are they back? The team — led by Ramaphosa’s security adviser, Sydney Mufamadi, arguably the most boring man in our entire body politic, and including deputy foreign minister Alvin Botes, fresh from an ass-kissing ANC party visit to Moscow — were in the US to try to reassure disenchanted political leaders there that the Russian alliance is just a principled position of non-alignment in an increasingly repolarising world, and to please not terminate our inclusion in the African Growth & Opportunities Act (Agoa), under which we export everything from cars to oranges to the US, duty free.

I seriously doubt it. Our banks need to comply with western sanctions. If this is happening it is not happening through a normal bank account.

Seems like a lame "Russiagate" conspiracy

No, if you know that the PA will betray the coalition it makes your Option 1 null and void at the end of the day as the ANC/EFF would end up running things anyway and all you've done is add an additional month or 2 of political chaos that achieves nothing.

It wouldn't really surprise me, but I don't think its the only reason the ANC would jeopardise our trade with the West. The ANC are fscking stupid enough to do that without any financial incentive due to them hating the "West" due to their brainwashing by the USSR.

It wasn't doomsday don't be dramatic.
I use Doomsday in reference to ANC/EFF coalition, not actual doomsday...
The DAs inability to count and compromise is making them look more like the bad guys and is worse than PA betrayal.
Lol. So DA's refusal to work with PA is somehow worse than the PA actively betraying the Moonshot countless times nationwide and working with ANC nationwide because "MuH NuMBeRs AnD CoMpRoMisE"...

Just say the "DA Arrogant Big Brother" meme next time bruv...

You could have just said you prefer option two without talking so much BS.

One minute the ANC is stealing enough to be able to finance everything, were they not just recently stealing R1bn a day just from Eskom alone?

The next minute they are so broke that they rely on Russia to pay salaries? Are we really going to make up our minds about this? Is the ANC broke or not?

That stolen money goes straight into the personal pockets and not the political party's account used for paying salaries.

The necessary amount will probably return.

Ahh... reasonable explanation...

But on second thoughts, why would the ANC allow that? Isn't it a long held tradition that those who are allowed to steal must take care of the ANC? Or have the cadres gone rogue?

Precisely.

There's no point in DA/Moonshot to directly coalesce with PA again knowing their history, just to have PA collapse the government in three months again, have Doomsday back in the saddle with some puppet mayor again, and be blamed for everything again.

I think DA should stay outside of this "new" coalition in JHB. Let ASA, PA and the others coalesce and provide them with external support. And when things finally come crashing down, the DA can wash their hands off of it. But then again the other parties will probably find a way to blame it all on DA again...

No, I never said I prefer Option 2 numbnuts... I just know that Option 2 is going to be the outcome because parties like the PA are only in it for what gravy they can get.

Oh we all know that Beaumont will blame John regardless :P

You only have 2 options. Moonshít or doomsday. Moonshít includes the PA at this point.

Yes they are idiots, yes pretending you don't need them is worse because that just ignores reality and is delusional.

A honest thief that is only in it for himself is better than a delusional politician.
