The RETs will leave to MK and EFF (that's if they don't merge completely in due course). And the more moderate/centrist will slowly leave to DA, ASA, etc. Leaving a husk of the ANC.

This is just a fight for access to the trough and levers of power to avoid accounting.

A disciplinary report has recommended that the DA's Cape Agulhas mayor, Paul Swart, be removed from the position after finding him guilty of misconduct and breaching the councillor code of conduct.

A disciplinary report has recommended that the DA's Cape Agulhas Mayor, Paul Swart, be removed from the position after finding him guilty of misconduct and breaching the councillor code of conduct.

The report said he was guilty of two charges of misconduct and failure to disclose unauthorised expenditure.

Swart was subjected to a disciplinary hearing earlier this month after he was charged with misconduct following a forensic investigation.

He was accused of interfering in the tender process, signing off on payments to an entity with which he allegedly has strong links, and ultimately leading to fruitless and wasteful expenditure.

Last year, the Nexus Forensics Services report, titled "Final Report: Forensic Investigation into Allegations Made Against the Executive Mayor", found that Swart had "on various occasions, gave, or purported to give, instructions to officials on operational matters".
