The SA Politics Thread Part 6

DA demands the speaker of parliament and full control of either Gauteng or KZN with its other MPC partners.
Imagine you're a manager in a company and you run Unit A -the best unit in the company.

You're taking over another unit, and you have a choice between Unit B, fairly functional, and Unit C, where the staff hump the furniture. Why would you pick Unit C?

Unit C is KZN.

Exactly. SA would do well to stay clear of KZN until the next election cycle.

You mean it gets another rich province to govern? How about we give you North West? make a success of that first and then we talk.
Again with your arrogance. You will give Helen and John what they demand. The DA has the ANC by the balls. Their only other option is to bow down to Zuma and fire CR. Be grateful the DA is allowing you to keep your ill-gotten gains (for now).

My view:

DA demands the speaker of parliament and full control of either Gauteng or KZN with its other MPC partners.

The DA agrees to install CR as president and lets him form an ANC cabinet and votes for their budget. DA makes no concession to vote on anything else in parliament it doesn't agree with. Essentially a minority ANC government.

DA Pros: It gets another province to govern, and gets speaker of parliament - high visibility. It also lets the ANC further implode with their inability to run a country.

ANC Pros: It gets to keep all its cadres and corrupt networks (to a degree atleast
KZN will be IFP. The Zulus won't accept anyone except them or MK. And it will be done to maintain peace...

I live in Kzn and even I think you're being generous.. The fsckers stole all the furniture before anyone could hump it.

Gauteng needs a healer, a fixer, and there is no other colour better suited for this mammoth task than blue! You need to make peace with the fact that you will have to call her President Zille.
I am confident that with the right support, the best party in the world (DA in case you forgot) will be able to steer the ship in the right direction, out of the sewerage stream and onto the road to recovery.

Listen here, Champy, there will be no more arrogance from you. If Matamela wants to keep his job, he better be bowing down and kissing Gogo's feet!
These gents have not yet come to terms with the fact that they have no mandate to govern alone. They think they are still calling the shots. There will be some harsh lessons in the next 14 days.

The ANC has actually the most choices in this situation- and will be the ones who are consulting with all sides.

There are other options besides the MK, which is the EFF+1.

We all know what the ANC should be doing, but given their propensity to make bad choices, over and over and over again, I see them making more bad choices in a coalition choice.
Please let me be wrong..
