Can the ANC please come to campaign in my rock solid DA suburb? I want to see something. It's so rock solid that the DA doesn't even bother to campaign here. I want some campaign activity damn it!

Also digging just a small amount into social media, what I can find shows that this is a fringe group that doesn't seem to have much support in general.

One has to wonder who Mervyn Ramparsad is in relation to this, and what his agenda is.

Makes no sense that it is somehow the DA's fault... DA isn't in charge of the metro.

They will win that vote but it's not one that is as loyal to them as white English speakers. It's a vote they could lose if someone else puts their hand up enough for it as Gayton is doing with the coloured vote.

The biggest reason they hands down now have the Indian vote in KZN is because of the demise of the MF after Rajbansi died. MF was like the VF+ for Indians but which usually sided with ANC when it came to important decisions.

I think you misunderstand the "loyalty" of white English speakers to the DA also how they approach politics in general.

That was the ANC of then, this is the ANC of now. Even Kathrada in his final days, and his foundation, have increasingly started distancing themselves from the ANC...

Okay but if a charasmatic enough Indian politician emerges like Gayton, they will take Indian votes. There really isin't one right now especially in working class lower/middle class places like Phoenix where people are frustrated.

Kathrada was against the corruption of ANC but he was an ardent socialist. He'd never associate with DA either.
