If it ever had to happen, Nr1 would have to sleep with an eye open. I'm not suggesting anything, just looking at the nature of the beast. It would not be a win for the other side.

The VF+ aren't going to lose many votes. They don't have a direct competitor for the niche they appeal to so they are safe for now. If Afriforum decided to contest like how they contest some Uni elections, VF+ would be wiped out.

Does the ANC appeal to the niche that the VF+ appeals to? I want to see something...

She is a bit erratic at times but even her enemies have respect for her because she is a smart politician and has outlasted so many in the DA. Rumour has it Tony Leon's early retirement from politics was also because of her. Their working relationship was not the best and she even mentioned in her book she felt Tony was captured by the ex-NP members who joined when DP became the DA.

The VF+ appeals to white Afrikaner interests and they don't have a direct competitor for that right now. Being a 2% party is actually a blessing in disguise for them. If they expanded further, they were bound to get into a situation where someone would break ranks and attempt to form their own party and appeal to the same community.

History suggests it does not end well for people who try to take her on. As much as i disagree with a lot of what she says/does, one has to concede she is a smart politician. Even the other parties know this. When it comes to negotiations after the election, Helen will be the one calling the shots for DA, not John.

How do these Afrikaner interests feel about their leader dancing with the minister of loadshitting and also them voting for ANC cars in Durban?
