Mbeki never did, same with Ramaphosa, I have also not seen Zille do it or Tony Leon, I do recall Maimane with his wife, although not being on stage with him greeting the faithful. It is the second time now I see Steenhuisen do it.

Not saying there is something wrong with it, just wondering if there is any reason.

No point being in the provincial as they want to change the system first from Parliament. So I’ll vote OHM for national and regional and DA (the least shittest) for provincial.

They were with him when he won leadership in 2023 at Congress too...

If you really feel that strongly about them, split your vote. Vote for them on national, and others on your regional and provincial ballots.

Just don't vote ANC/EFF/MK please...

P.S @datadrain who would you vote for then on regional and provincial if OHM isn't available? (The only thing with OHM that I agree with is to implement direct presidential, mayoral and premier elections)

So don't get me wrong, there should be absolutely nothing wrong with a standing president addressing a nation, even a few days before elections... But cyril is a snake in the grass so there is something to be concerned about given the short notice of this and all that.
