That may be Ramaphosa's only shot to try and save himself. Or he makes way for Mashatile and the Doomsday Coalition...

All speculation. ANC NEC won't meet between election and first sitting with a decision to get rid of CR imho. The ANC is way too democratic for that. It will take months for Cyril to be kicked off the top post.

Yes, but that has nothing to do with the MK or the EFF.

MK and EFF only has a role in the electing of the speaker and the president.

Yeah it won't be immediate, but they will recall him once they have their EFF/MK ducks in a row.

Which will trigger another vote where those parties will support Mashatile. uBaba has always been vocal about Ramaphosa's ANC. With him gone and Paul keeping him out of jail, there's no reason to not support him...

If he's recalled when the ANC don't have a majority they may be shooting themselves in the foot. The EFF want Mashatile, the MK will want someone else. The MK and Mashatile aren't exactly buddies nor are the MK and EFF. The MK want the ANC and they'd prefer ANC-RET + MK.

They will just need enough for 10% or so. So it will be EFF or MK, and maybe one or two small parties.

Plenty in the ANC will back a Paul presidency (and MK/EFF coalition) if it gives them the power and resources to keep themselves out of jail.

They're not loyal to Cyril or anyone other than themselves. Some of uBaba's biggest praise singers in the ANC are now Cyril's praise singers. That will stop when he's no longer useful to them, and they'll switch to Paul...
