Both sides should refuse to work with ExtremeFlipFloppers for the sake of their sanity. I doubt they will even get into double digits in '24.
A DA /ANC coalition? It makes sense after smaller parties proved that try can't be trusted, just give a few DA members a taste of what it feels like to be a real minister instead of a shadow minister, let the small useless parties be the opposition to the unity government.

If that ANC puts State before Party and scraps BEE/AA, and turns on all their corrupt members and locks them up, then sure, unity can work imho.

Two by-elections today: one in Prince Albert and another in uMhlathuze.

DA and IFP are on the offensive in their respective areas.

It is possible that the DA can win in PA. If they do, they will win Prince Albert for the UF and will be able to govern outright.

In uMhlathuze, it is going to be a dogfight between IFP and ANC. If the IFP can cut down ANC vote share at the least, it will be great. Even better if they win the ward (since if they do, an IFP/DA/ACDP/VF+ coalition will be able to govern if they aren't already).

Just based on the Daily Maverick article, I am confident the DA will win in Prince Albert. You don't send in the big guns to a by election if it's bad...also will once again bust Dawie's narrative that the DA is 'stuck' on only appealing to leafy suburbia.

The ANC would probably rule even at 40%. You forget that the DA have a "vow" not to work with the EFF and the EFF have said they'd work with the ANC to keep Steenhuizen out of the president's seat. Suppose there is also the chance the ANC refuse to work with the EFF but I think the ANC will be able to form government without the EFF if they get over 40%. The opposition need the EFF to form government.
EFF flip-flops at the speed of light. If Rama remains ANC leader, EFF won't work with ANC. Hence why CiC said they'd rather work with Mashatile (when last year November, he talked massive **** about Mashatile...)

Yeah. I would say the DA has a pristine chance of winning the ward.

Will break the general "DA DYING LMAO" narrative even more. Since if the DA is in such a death spiral according to the narrative, why are they winning wards, and why are they improving vote share in most of the areas they successfully defend? Why are they polling so well?

Doubt the EFF even knows what the speed of light is. Their entire manifesto is built on a pile of bullshit.
