Funnily enough, Dawie alleged in a WorldView interview that there was massive fighting between ASA and DA for donors and many loyal DA donors have walked over, etc. Going by recent declarations seems like it's not completely true.

Yeah, can't trust Dawie when it comes to ASA affairs as he has clearly nailed his colours to their mast and thus can't be that objective. He's very invested in the 'DA is failing' narrative as he clearly dislikes Steenhuisen and was part of Mmusi DA faction. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if he's paid some money by ASA.

Well is this Dawie that influential that the ASA would pay him to shill. But there do seem to be a number of these alleged journalists/analysts who support certain parties and positions. That former DA spokesperson also goes around trying to pretend not to support the DA. He is exactly how you describe Dawie but he misliked Maimane and his faction.

That's the thing, ain't it? You struggle to find truly independent analysts, etc. Since everyone has their leanings/biases and opinions...

Gift of the Givers founder Imtiaz Sooliman has scoffed at accusations by the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal that the non-profit handed out food parcels in favour of the IFP ahead of a by-election in the uMhlathuze municipality.

Nooooooo... The ANC didn't just accuse Gift of the Givers of political interference...
His comments followed a statement by ANC provincial secretary Bheki Mtolo, who "noted with disgust the use of food parcels by the Gift of the Givers Foundation to boost Inkatha Freedom Party's dismal campaign ahead of a by-election in Ward 12 under uMhlathuze Local Municipality".

"With the majority of communities in Ward 12 having attended, in large numbers, all ANC activities over the past few days, we are seeing unethical and desperate attempts used by the IFP to stifle the ANC's resounding victory," he said.

Mtolo added:

We are currently nursing a hope that the founder of the Gift of the Givers Foundation, Dr Imtiaz Sooliman, will come out clean (sic) and explain the position of his organisation regarding what is happening in Ward 12.

He's the only electoral analyst in SA besides that guy for Daily Maverick - Sussman somebody or other. He's quite likely to generate a media story at the right times (around elections and such).

Sussman is pretty good. Relatively unbiased. Just gives the scores from elections and analyses them...

The only time I hear or see of Dawie is when PrimeSteak posts his tweets here, that's also how I came to know about him, I first saw him on this forum, never encountered the guy anywhere else.

I only post his scores honestly, since he's usually first...

P.S He does News24's elections stuff as well.
