He can slam it all he wants, that's not going to make it disappear quietly in the night, it exists because the government he leads is useless and cannot deal with the illegal immigration problem.
Yup... Like the mpumalanga conference must reflect on their election and the NEC need to mull it over... More talk talk talk.

But asking for our laws to be enforced is xenophobia.

The whole problem is that the gov has created this "saviour of Africa" image when it comes to immigration laws.

What I mean by "saviour of Africa" is what our gov is basically saying and doing:

"Hey, come to our country legally or illegally, that's fine, just bribe us and you can come in or just walk over our coveted border fence! Oh, have we mentioned that you aren't accountable to the law or constitution? You can just do whatever the **** you like cause we're oh so benevolent!".

Yeah, I find it kinda funny that a lot of them get really hardegat when called out for essentially being put ahead of the country's own citizens. I mean take the Robertson thing, seeing them fight and divide the jobs among themselves like it's the ****ing Scramble for Africa while South Africans stand on the sidelines and say "Well, I guess I'll stay unemployed" and the gov snorts its own farts or whatever in the meantime. The wokes who sob "xenophobia" at almost anything regarding illegals don't help much either.

We need stronger borders and immigration laws, guys.

Not a fan of Ramaphosa by long shot but Mkhwebane is really getting desperate. Expect her to further claim Ramaphosa taking action against her is in retaliation for the PP investigating him.

"The Public Protector has to do her work and I will do my work. Each one of us have our tasks and jobs to do and we must do our work as best as possible as we can,' President Cyril Ramaphosa said.

She's launching three new investigations into him. I think she's cornered atm...

The ANC was outvoted after its own coalition partners, the Abantu Batho Congress (ABC), voted with the DA, IFP and other opposition parties, against Ray Nkonyeni municipal manager, Maxwell Mbili, who was in the running for the position.
Hmmm, curious. Who will be elected then? Since the next one ANC suggests might also be shot down?

I suspect ABC wants their own guy there, just like they forced to have their guy as deputy mayor they are hoping to twist the ANC's arm for some concessions.

How many own goals do these okes want to score?

They don't have much support so maybe thought this publicity stunt would actually help them. It's actually surprising they have lasted so long so they definitely get good amounts of funding from the people they milk.

This comes amid heavy criticism over the scandal-plagued department's return of an unspent R205 million infrastructure grant to the National Treasury, even though public schools are under-resourced. Several schools opened without textbooks this year.

However, the DA in the Eastern Cape said the move raised serious questions.

Eastern Cape legislature member and deputy chairperson of the party in the province, Yusuf Cassim, said the suspension of Mbude comes after she revealed several concerns about the department at a portfolio committee meeting on Monday.

According to Cassim, Mbude said she discovered that the department had been deliberately submitting manual orders for textbooks and stationery for years, delaying payment until the next financial year due to insufficient funds in the budget.

Doing so is a violation of the Public Finance Management Act.

Mbude also informed the committee that the reason the infrastructure budget was underspent, was due to significant allegedly irregular, fruitless and wasteful expenditure that she had discovered in the infrastructure programme.

The department is conducting a full audit of infrastructure projects, Cassim said.

Cassim said that in her response, Mbude revealed that audits for two districts had been completed and showed discrepancies between what was paid for and what was actually delivered.

Mbude told the committee that the audit was being conducted because the Auditor-General had found that the department did not have an asset register, according to Cassim.
Called for comment, Mabuyane said his office would send out a statement at a later stage about the matter.

In a letter dated 30 March, Mabuyane asked Mbude to make representations, and she responded on 4 April.

In the suspension letter on Tuesday, Mabuyane said he noted the content of her representations and added that he would not respond to every averment made.
In a suspension letter dated 5 April, Mabuyane did not give reasons for the decision.

Something seems sus in EC. Also, how do you return the R205 million meant for school infrastructure in a province where almost everything is in tatters?

It's a double edged sword, if it is spent it will most probably be flagged in audits as wasteful and irregular, it could also be found to have been spent in a corrupt manner.

That's the paralysis brought about by corruption, with the SIU being as sharp as they are it's probably much safer to return the money back than to have to answer when it's spent irregularly.

Eastern Cape is not the shining light when it comes to corruption. Even Mandela's funeral was not spared by ANC vultures

I guess. But they could have used that to improve the school infrastructure too?

The problem is not what they could have done but how to go about doing that. The whole thing is corrupt, and I think the HOD's problem is that she just couldn't see a way of spending the money without pouring it into another scheme of corrupt tenders. Maybe the idea was to clean up first and get a handle of the situation because if corruption was to happen everyone would point at her.
