It would be a massive win if the UF somehow manages to get COSATU away from the ANC and towards the UF. Unlikely yes, but still a cool prospect.

Maybe another united front, the DA is just too foreign to the ideals of Cosatu. Besides that the United Front is still a group of parties opposed to the ANC, there is still no coherent way forward as well as aligning values, mission and ideals of the parties.

You can see that by just how the parties who are in a coalition in various local governments are unable to find each other on matters of national importance in Parliament.

For now they are in no position to attract anyone significant, let alone Cosatu, their egos are still getting in the way and to be honest, even saying their common hatred for the ANC is what brings them together is not entirely accurate, you can tell by his current antics that Holomisa's UDM would be out of there as soon as Ramaphosa is toppled, because that is the General's number 1 priority for now, he is not really opposed to the ANC.

He did come into politics yesterday, but he was also tutored by Helen Zille so he must have picked up a few things.

Yeah, I didn't mean to incorporate them into the UF itself but rather as a distant ally of UF. The unions have big sway as things are now...

That could be, hence why I just told @TheChamp that I meant if the UF could keep them as a distant ally (Soviet Union/Allies WW2 type of collaboration) it could work out great for UF.
 
I feel like the momentum, against the ANC as a whole, is now picking up a lot more speed.

The SANDF have never been deployed to ANC conferences as far as I know, that has always been SAPS gig, so there will still be wasting of taxes through the deployment of SAPS, you don't need SANDF for that.
