I know you love to hate on the DA and anyone but the ANC; but the fact is, money corrupts, regardless of political affiliation. 100k to someone struggling to make ends meat, is very tempting - and the weak, immoral will always take the easy route out.

Being part of a political party does not mean all basic human nature and weakness disappear - we are still dealing with people with actual lives and 100k will change someone life a fair amount.

Apparently, they were the ones who ousted Uncle Trollip back in the day? Cool, good riddance.

It's sad, because I am starting to see good change in the city, the UF has made an impact - and now, the ANC will come back to **** it up.

So, when does it end? Are we going to have minority governments - unstable ones at that for the foreseeable future? Because signed agreements mean nothing, it seems.

Well, if JHB falls we can only hope the others nationwide will hold. Otherwise, things don't look too good...

Nah, once the ANC makes it way back into JHB; they'll apply the same tactic else where. I suspect the rest of the UF governments will fall, using this tactic.

I don't know how a councillor can battle to make ends meet to be honest.

It's all about understanding the balance of forces and managing them, which is an ongoing thing, an agreement is not going to help if coalition partners are unhappy about something, you need to sit down and thrash things out until you find a common ground, pointing to a signed agreement is like pointing to a marriage certificate when there are issues in a relationship.

Time will tell if there is anything to be learnt from the Joburg and Tshwane thing.
 
Going to be a bloody fight this. At the cost of the residents. ****ing. Great.
