So whats your take on ASA effectively trying to change the terms of a signed coalition agreement after the fact?
If inserting a speaker from one of the other parties would strengthen the coalition then why shouldn't the agreement terms me reviewed. I haven't seen a response from the DA on the allegation that other parties have up positions to secure the PA but the DA did not give an inch.

I'd hardly call running to the courts getting things done. The DA and their partners lack the numbers. Even if they do win it'll just mean the ANC and their puppet will follow due process and remove Mpho within a week. If the DA have the numbers let them remove Colleen and the new mayor by monc.
It's just politics really, if they win at court they will prove that the sitting was illegal and they can make a lot of noise about it, no idea what political mileage they will get out of it but they are desperate.

Well, not like the DA had a problem with governing on the EFF's support, they actually were very keen looking at how disappointed they are now. The whole point was getting rid of the ANC and if the EFF offered their support in that regard, no one would have said no.
That's on the EFF, The DA were vocal at the start, they did not want EFF support. That Mashaba persuaded the EFF is his issue, the DA owes them nothing.

Agreed.

The problem is, let's say the DA relented. And handed over Speaker to IFP.
  1. Gayton would've gone over to ANC anyway, was a matter of time tbh.
  2. It would've opened the door to perpetual musical chairs over positions to keep the coalitions together, contravening the agreement constantly, for the sake of "power-sharing" and "co-governance".

The usual firefighting but with a **** ton of press this time.

P.S Notice how every time DA says no to ASA, you hear "ARROGANT DA", "DA ONLY CARE ABOUT WC", [insert Zille conspiracy here]" and so on...

Exactly. He was already in talks with ANC. Tbh I wondered how long PA would be part of the Gauteng UF coalitions when they left in WC earlier this year.
I wonder what Rob Hershov has to say about Gayton now?

Why should there be any "inserting" when there already was a speaker and agreement?

That is pretty much the natural progression for DA politicians in Gauteng. I don't think it's going to require any hounding. She might stick around for now to get her financial affairs in order after losing out on the mayors salary, as soon as that is done she will be moving on.

TBH, I don't think money is a factor for her. She could probably earn more if she practiced as a doctor than if she stayed in politics.

The best DA members? Only Baloyi was any good. Unfortunately he has now become a wise-cracking troll whose primary job appears to be attacking the DA on twitter. From actually doing good public service as a DA mayor to a social media manager - what a demotion.

Dean Macpherson from the DA is also very much a troll who has brought the party into disrepute yet he does not get any hate here.

Politics is easy money, there must be a good reason why we have so many doctors in politics, and none seem very keen to go back to practising.
