all this fluff. We are not in townships and not interested in their improvement. Also, if WC is now a number 2 spot, that shows how he has manipulated system and bribed makers. Can you imagine a republic of mostly Europeans coming 2nd? Which world do you live in?

Eikona wena....

That republic is mostly halfbreeds isn't it? Can't really claim to be mostly Europeans if the Europeans of old consorted with the natives you know :p

Perhaps it's very possible not to agree with a person on some things and not declare him entirely useless and incompetent? I also don't like Zille but going as far as calling her useless and incompetent is a massive stretch.

We all know the main problem people have with him is his run ins with the Afriforum right wingers and his response to racism incidents that usually happens at schools, I do think his response to some of the incidents could have been handled better, while some were spot on, it would be fair to criticize him on that, not just declare him incompetent and useless.

In light of the new information, I will retract my incompetent and useless moniker for him...

The populist one though I think does still stand due to his interactions in social media and with the incidents that have happened at some schools where he has jumped on the bandwagon before all the information came out.

@TheChamp is just full of ****. I don't know why you lot continue to engage him. Obviously he is just trolling at this point.
You are becoming into a big crybaby these days, you need to get a grip.

I say a lot of unpopular things on the forum and I back them up, you might not agree with me it's fine, if we agreed on everything this would be one boring place. One doesn't become a troll because he said something you don't like, learn to tell the difference.

Oh come now... you do troll on occasion for shytes and giggles. We all do :)

But yes, as much as you may say unpopular things, and we don't always agree.. I would class you as generally an upstanding individual.

So, we'll just result to name calling? Really?

I find a lot of what you say complete BS - you've been known to troll more often than not. So, it's hard to figure out if you're trying to be serious or not.

I sure as hell am not rooting for him. Afriforum gave him a huge smackdown after publicly claiming they were harassing and were going to even assassinate him. Now he's Gauteng premier ?

"Lesufi went on television ... and said that AfriForum has been following him, and AfriForum has been following his children, and AfriForum has been trying to assassinate him, and AfriForum has been hacking his bank accounts.

"And obviously none of that is true so we regard that as ... I mean it is just blatantly a lie

Laugh it off but rhetoric statements like this only inflame.

Thats the populist in him... trying to sow divisions in the racial/language divide basically.

I definitely am not rooting for him and I very much dislike him, but I will refrain from calling him useless and incompetent since he seems to have done some good in the Education space in Guateng.

Some self awareness please. You named the guy full of **** (and a troll) and want to whine about him calling you a cry baby?

How does it work in Provincial Elections with the Premier? Does a party need more than 50% or is it just the one with the most votes. For example, ANC is second and get 35% and DA get 36%, does the DA get Premier of the Province?
It works the same as in Parly and Council.

Someone gets elected as Premier if they get 50% + 1 seat support.

Yeah, you can't complain about our racism either. Do that when you arrest your zumas & guptas.

I'm talking about the National Elections in '24. Is that not when we vote for Provincial Governments? I remember there always being 2 ballots. So lets say hypothetically the DA are no.1 with the most votes, lets say 35%, ANC get 30%, and then all the other smaller parties, does the DA win the Province and can elect their Premier?

Mayors are local government, not provincial government.
It works like in Council and Parly.

They need 50% + 1 seat support in provincial parly to be able to elect their Premier candidate. I.e. they'll need to coalesce to do so.

If we had separate elections for Premier, etc, that result would lead to a run-off between DA candidate and ANC candidate.

How did it work in WC when DA won by minority coalition when the anc lost or was that just the city and not the province, I can't remember now?
CPT was governed by a 10-party UF coalition in 2006. Led by Gogo.

In WC, the DA won outright with 51% in 2009.

Remember that you have a job. I told you go easy on the jobless. Some of them get touchy like that.

Nah, I think HalfBreedystan is a better name... since we all know that what @lexity wants is hardly a Republic... think and be like him or GTFO
