That's just you, right? Do you think all the DA voters are like you or would you admit some do care for individuals?

Well, that's not the basis of the original debate, is it?

I didn't say other voters feel this way; I have no idea how other voters feel and won't make assumptions on such. I was speaking from my point of view, only.

Also, if DA voters as he claims don't care about personalities, why the drop in votes under Maimane? Did governance drop under him?

I don't need to be a voter, I know every supporter thinks his party is special but they are mostly the same, there's a good reason why the support of the party goes up or down under different leaders and provincial and municipal support does the same, you want to look me in the eye and tell someone like Pappas is not a brand within on his own?

Even Zille who annoys me greatly was a brand, if people just voted for the party we won't be able to explain why Tony's DA was such a damp squib compared to Zille and Maimane's DA.

But disagreeing is fine, nothing wrong with seeing things differently.
I don't give a **** about JS or HZ or <insert name here>. I give a **** about clean efficient governance. At the moment I'm picking the DA.

What's the point of such a poll? Results will be meaningless. Right now, we have no choice but to have coalitions, due to no party getting a majority at local levels.
For ASA's decision-making, I assume.

Would be funny, if the results all resoundingly reject the ANC again...

They have to start somewhere?

I mean it's thanks to their performance in CPT that they could take WC in 2009. So it's not impossible that uMngeni could get the DA's numbers up with how Pappas is coming in clutch over there.

I guess. But if I am honest, I think the WC thing was a fluke. Right timing and things fell into place. I don't think that same MO can be replicated in the current political climate.

The DA (or any other party) will need to win a city, not just a ward - to really have a chance of making an impact in the province.

There are plenty of wards in Gauteng, fully under DA control, some for more than a decade. But that has not really transpired to them having a bigger voter share in the province. They need to take the big metros.

Show me, where I said DA voters don't care? I was very clear in my statement, that I, personally don't care. I can't speak for other voters. I have no idea what they feel or think or care about, within the party.

I politely disagree.

That's where uMngeni and the UF Coalitions come in...

Agreed - but they need to last more than a year and be stable. There are talks already that ANC is now going after the other two UF coalitions in the province.

That is the basis of the original debate.

I'm a DA voter and I have no idea who this Zwakele person is. DA voters vote for good governance, not for personalities.

Of course, I wouldn't have had a problem with your post if you just said that's how you as an individual voter feel, but you tried to paint DA voters as something special and a different breed to other voters, which is clearly not the case.
