On another note, it will be interesting to see what Steenhuisen does when his term as DA leader ends.

Unlike the other leaders that came before him, he can't exactly retire from politics unless he gets a cadre deployed job with a contact somewhere. He has no qualification to fall back on.

He may not set himself up for WC Premiership as it seems Hill-Lewis is eyeing that role when Winde retires. If he on the off chance decides to take on Hill-Lewis, it may not end well.

The info about Madikizela lying about his qualifications very likely came from Hill-Lewis' camp so Hill-Lewis becomes ruthless when he is gunning for positions.
He'll go to IRR, get tenders from a DA government somewhere, there is always a plan.

Proof that Hill-Lewis wants to gun for the premiership after Winde? (He just recently became mayor of CoCT?)

Obviously no solid proof at this stage but he's well acquainted with WC and Premier would be a natural progression from Mayor once Winde retires, possibly in 2029 if not 2024 but I think 2029 more likely. Zille also progressed from Mayor to Premier so it's very plausible Hill Lewis has the same long term vision in mind.

The only way Winde may give up in 2024 is if he retires. We don't really know how he feels towards the leadership as he does not campaign for the DA at all and has a good relationship with CR, so much so that he's contradicted Steenhuisen's moaning in the past.

In the off chance DA goes into coalition with ANC to keep CR as President, he may also land himself a Minister job or an ambassador job as Tony Leon had under Zuma (its still a mystery why Zuma gave him that job but I'm sure the reasoning behind it will be interesting especially as Mashaba said Leon was trying to get tenders from him).

It may be better for DA to go into coalition with ANC with DA Ministers than go into an unstable coalition with JS as President that will probably fail but this is based on a lot of iffs.

Most likely is ANC winning with help from PA, Al Jamaah etc.

No mystery, corruption, pandering and propaganda

No the reasons why Zuma gave Tony Leon a job and Leon accepted will be interesting. No outlet bothered to ask questions behind it, everyone was too focused on Zuma's corrupton at the time.

I mean, Zuma would have certainly wanted something from Leon in return for that job. We still don't know what that is. You don't just give people in-demand jobs for nothing or as a goodwill gesture, more especially if they are from a rival group.

The working relationship between Helen Zille and Tony Leon was also apparently not very good as Zille said in one interview. But I can see that logically, Leon was her main rival at the time for leadership.

I think you guys are so focussed on your own silo thinking that you miss what I heard Tony Leon say; Jacob Zuma is a very pleasant and personable fellow, terrible leader though. Despite being on very opposite sides I think they were friendly (the opposite of Mbeki whose cold arrogance helped propel Zuma into power) so it was a job for a pal.

Will be interesting to see how the red berets vote...I guess they hate Cyril so will support the motion.
The DA wants a motion on his cabinet, so if it succeeds Cyril would remain and have a chance to appoint a new cabinet, supporting that doesn't help much if you have a problem with Cyril.

Funny thing is that even if the motion does succeed I don't think there is anything stopping Cyril from appointing the same cabinet.

Mbeki could have been the friendliest President on earth and Zuma would still have been pushed in because his supporters had the numbers and wanted him in by hook or crook.

Cyril is a very friendly guy yet the Zuptoids are planning day and night to get rid of him.

LOL --ffwd to a 2024 ANC gets less than 50% +1 ---opposition parties form a coalition government --VF + and EFF in the same government/cabinet... interesting times

From DA perspective, it would be better for them to go into coalition with CR as President and DA ministers.

If Steenhuisen has a shot at Presidency, they will support him but in the hope that the Zuma faction of the ANC gets majority power again and calls on the EFF for help and a merger.

In that case, Steenhuisen will be impeached before his term ends.

The EFF have likely peaked but I do think that if they had a shot at winning Presidency, DA would do everything in their power to keep ANC in power as much as they will deny it.

Oh well, and here I thought Mbeki angling for a third term and being a dwiss about AIDS counted against him. That naughty Mr Zuma. Nothing really relevant to Bra Tony picking up a job in SA (South America).

In other news.... someone is spreading the rumour that a general organized revolt against the ANC with the aim of removing the entire cabinet for a start is "weeks not months away".

Voicenotes are wonderful arnt they?

But you can’t dismiss their plight because there might be Xenophobic attacks. Their complaints are the same as Afriforum complaining about Cuban doctors and engineers. It just happens that they are focusing on entry level jobs. Maybe instead of fearing the possible consequences from the movement, people must actually address the issue.

Difference being Afriforum wont kick off with violence...which is where this will be heading...
