Maybe, we'll have to see.

But I think the grand goal for 2024 should be that the ANC gets thrown out of the other province govs and national gov. If ANC vote share falls further in WC, it's a bonus.

There is a very real chance of the ANC getting below 50% nationally in 2024. The real question is who will form the coalition government.

Ok, to form a gov a party/coalition needs 201 seats.

If the ANC gets just below 50% (47 - 49%, 188 to 196 seats), then they will probably coalesce with GOOD, Al Jama-ah, and perhaps some other small parties to govern. Otherwise, if they fall even further (46% and lower, 184 seats and less), no one will be able to get them out of there except perhaps the EFF but if Rama stays ANC leader it won't happen (refer to 2021 LGE coalition talks).

Coalescing with the ANC would be a poisoned chalice anyway since these parties would always be known as the parties who saved the ANC and would be committing political suicide with their voters.
On the other side if the ANC falls below 46%, without EFF help, DA/ASA/VF+/ACDP and maybe some others, could form a government throwing out the ANC and keeping EFF out of power (the best and everyone's preferred ending).

ASA, I think will be very, very influential come 2024.

Because so far they're the only party that can siphon voters from the Big 3 (ANC, DA, EFF), we've seen this in the Pretoria by-election. They're growing exponentially across the country, with branches opening every week.
The Soweto and NMB by-elections next week and in July will also be massive tests for them, giving us a gauge of how they do in township areas as well as outside GP. If they can do well in both, then it could only bode well for them and add to their momentum for 2024 and boost their current rep as an alternative to the Big 3.

@Fulcrum29 What do you make of this? Makes the whole JSC/EFF thing seem more obvious?
Responding to a written parliamentary question from EFF MP Dumisani Fannie Mthenjane, Ramaphosa explained his decision.

I have stressed my views on this many a time, but to answer it on topic Ramaphosa exercised his presidential powers which is at his discretion and in my view, it was the right thing to do. It is not like the JSC processes was without scrutiny, it was challenged and not adhered to by the JSC. There are other matters to discuss in this regard, some also applicable to Ramaphosa, but it is not my place to debate at this time.

I agree. What I mean is that the EFF seems to hammer on Rama seemingly "ignoring" the JSC? Perhaps they had a personal stake in getting Maya to be Chief Justice, maybe there's an off chance she's in on something with them?

At this point in time there is nothing pointing to Justice Maya being 'captured', the processes happening at the SCA, though delayed, are still within their own powers. My only concern is that Dali is too intimately involved with the JSC to handle cases sensitive to the public interest, but as can be noted, Zuma’s case is losing public interest. It is not only Zuma, Mkhwebane, and the like, as well as the core state prosecutions to come. All being said is OT, but the possibility that the courts are sought to be controlled is worrisome, being drummed on by “decolonising the law”, whatever that means.

The courts' independence must be protected.

that there should be less red tape for firms, and even a possible step away from the current model of black economic empowerment

Only when Jesus comes back will BEE stop. Too many cadres getting rich of BEE.

Ready for war in other people's countries while they have never been ready for war to defend their own countries against dictatorships, The late Tsvangirai was beaten black and blue by Mugabe, they were not ready for war, but now they are ready for war here in our country?

Isn't SA just a lovely country...
Great! Can we ask the Commonwealth for planes, boats, tanks ... to defend ourselves against Zim?
