Nice of Maimane not to include a source but just a picture from some media whose name shall remain unknown, it could be so tabloid for fake news for all we know.

Lol. The entitlement is just priceless. They flee the likes of Zimbabwe, not holding their gov accountable or fighting for their country, but nah, they want a war against SAns in South Africa...Ready for war in other people's countries while they have never been ready for war to defend their own countries against dictatorships, The late Tsvangirai was beaten black and blue by Mugabe, they were not ready for war, but now they are ready for war here in our country?
Damn.. That's no fun.. Being iol it's almost a given that its fake news.
Found it
Ok, seems like a IOL vassal. Agreed that it could be fake news.
And here I thought they were the bastion of journalism in SA.Being iol it's almost a given that its fake news.
Well no hey... Haven't they all been like that for ages
I think he is speaking more towards the fact that the ANC is on some renewal drive, not necessarily saying in my time this did not happen. And he is right, the conferences spend all the time arguing about credentials and have no time for discussing other things pertaining to the organisation, which does not bode well for their commitment towards the renewal of the party.Well no hey... Haven't they all been like that for ages
At no other point in the last fifteen years has the African National Congress (ANC) been so well placed to wrestle power from the Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Western Cape.
In what has been the DA's stronghold since 2006, the City of Cape Town, with the party winning the city in the 2016 elections with 66.7%, it lost almost 10% of the electoral vote and led with a 58.2% majority in 2021. The DA has 386 seats fewer now than it had after the 2016 elections and according to analyst Dawie Scholtz, the DA is now down to 54% of the coloured vote from 77% in the 2016 elections.
While this loss of support is largely happening without any help from opposition parties, the DA has not been as weak as it has been now and opposition parties have a rare opportunity to pull the rug under the party's table and possibly push them into opposition benches or a frustrating coalition.
If, however, the ANC is ever to take advantage of a weakening DA, it needs to fix its own house.

YONELA DIKO: Is ANC still a contender for power in the Western Cape?

Both aren't going to happen, lol. Keep dreaming. Also, check out last year's results and 2019:
2019 WC:
DA - 55.45%
ANC - 28.63%

The ANC is ****ing far from being a contender in WC. Unless the DA falls under 50% (around 45 - 50%), which is unlikely, the DA would just coalesce with ASA, VF+, and ACDP, that's it.
There is a decent chance that the DA drops below 50%. ASA didn't contest in the WC in 2021.
What I said.Unless the DA falls under 50% (around 45 - 50%), which is unlikely, the DA would just coalesce with ASA, VF+, and ACDP, that's it.
What I said.
Also, WC is the DA's stronghold, so while ASA could make inroads, I don't see them giving a shock upset in WC.
ANC remains a non-contender in WC.
Maybe, we'll have to see.The DA would absolutely try for a coalition. I agree that the chance of the ANC taking control of the Western Cape is incredibly low but think that there is a good chance that the DA will need a coalition in 2024.
