Which institutions in the private sector tho? I don't know about you ****ers, but I find this extremely worrying.

Does it include media outlets? Big companies?

Like Leon says, it seems it's not only the state that was captured but the country itself...
It's probably something like Telkom or Vodacom when the government still had shares there or through other companies in the private sector where government could have an interest, for a example if an institution Iike PIC has shares in some private company government might have some influence on the people appointed to leadership positions. People like Mcebisi Jonas have made it into the private sector after his sacking and the chap who was the DG in Treasury is now the CEO of Standard Bank SA, grated he wasn't a politician but not all deployed cadres are politicians.

It's not like they would just barge on a company that has nothing to with them and demands that their takes over. I also believe the private companies who aims to buy favour could also invite the ANC to forward names of cadres who would serve on boards.

Like TheChamp mentions above I think it's most probably going to be directors on the boards of companies where the government itself, the PIC, DBSA or IDC owns a decent portion of the shares. The PIC by itself, through its huge assets under management (around R2.3 trillion), owns around 10% of the top 40 shares listed on the JSE - a 10% shareholder can usually justify appointing a board member.

Would be interesting to know what influence such board members have on board decisions - doubt it's going to be much where they've only appointed one (mostly likely non-executive) director.

A chance for the WMC puppet to show them 2017 was no fluke, does the woman still think there's a benefit in being a Zuma?
Who else would RET field? She's kept her nose "clean" and stayed out of the infighting (at least on the surface) and she looks "acceptable" to cowering investors. At least that would be what the RET see. The puppet might not get to run in '22 he does have that Phala Phala matter hanging over his head and he's been a little bit naïve overall.

Plus she's a woman. Camp Cyril should make a plan on alternatives, if Cyril isn't allowed to contest there shouldn't all of a sudden be five candidates fighting amongst each other.
