I feel bad for Dr Phalatse because she was let down by her party, I thought she needed enough time to implement whatever plans she had for the city. Coming back to the change we were already seeing there wasn't much, I live in a better part of the city so the infrastructure wasn't bad to begin with but roads were still unmarked, the dogdy workmanship on potholes was already unravelling. I haven't been to any townships recently so I really don't know what was happening there but I haven't heard anyone raving about the good service delivery.

The only thing I can commend is the work they were doing in cleaning the inner city, besides that i really cant see anything exceptional.

We will only get to hear how bad, opportunistic and divisive she was once/if the experiment is over. I can't wait.
 

Millions down the drain in Tshwane tender saga​


At least five City of Tshwane senior officials should face criminal charges for their part in allowing irregular tender procedures that cost the Tshwane ratepayers nearly R292m after a forensic report looking into a Rooiwal wastewater treatment plant found they had flouted procurement rules.

The report was tabled in council yesterday.

The five were members of a Bid Evaluating Committee (BEC) whose failures to follow proper processes caused the city to incur nearly R292m in irregular expenditure.

Dunno. It could lead to more resentment towards ANC and hit them in the votes. But the infighting and Twitter firefights could damage the UF as well...
 
At most a court will buy them time but if they don't have the numbers she is still going to be removed anyway, unless they have a plan to persuade some opposition councillors, and usually negotiating from a position of weakness is very costly.

Waste of time and money. IIRC the last DA coalition in the city also ended with an inconclusive court case. If they want the city back they need to work the good old way not court room.

And what's with John and always announcing that he'll brief the nation on this and that? Seems to be have an elevated notion of his importance.
