Let us know when you start selling! Nice grow - be cool to see where you're at a year from now with all the agar etc. experiments.
Thanks!

I haven't sorted out the agar stuff and such yet, but I did get two spore prints from two lovely specimens, which I will work with going forward with this strain. I also note that this was super-basic; unmodified boxes - Previously I've tried with holes, controlling airflow, etc, and it just ended up causing more issues than anything else.

First prize will eventually be modified tubs that can do the entire process from incubation to fruiting without being opened at all, but this will take some work. As time and equipment permits, I am also keen to fiddle around with some automated systems (mister / timer / pump / sensors being all automated), but one thing I have learned is the simpler, the better.

As for selling - That would be lovely, but for reasons completely unfathomable to me, these gentle fruits are considered an awful, dangerous substance, with no medical use and recreationally are a significant legal danger to those who possess them. Can't very well have the cogs expanding their minds too much I guess. **** 'em.

How about a geocache in Newland's Forest?

So there is no holes in your tubs? Did you just open up everyday or leave it ajar?

It is possible that we have met before!

Nice substrate cook.

Well done on the flushes!

If you have agar plates please share pics. I will be starting to muck around with plates in a few weeks. Just waiting for my buddy to get me Pan spores.

It never ends!
I will happily do so... assuming I can find plates somewhere. Was hoping to find locally (i.e. without having to buy them online) - Boxes of 500, which may be a few too many.

Use condiment tubs with lids from plastic warehouse.

No holes at all. Tub is not airtight, so for incubation, clips on, towel over tub in warm area. For fruiting, I simply unclip the lid, fan with the lid, mist as needed, and put it back without clipping it down (to allow for gas exchange).

The challenge here is figuring out how much you need to do this while balancing enough oxygen exchange without drying them out. A big part of this equation is of course the field capacity of the substrate; getting to a point now where it is becoming a more intuitive process.

That said - I don't think I will be able to produce 'perfect' fruits until A) I've got a setup where I can refine genetics, and B) control the growing conditions more appropriately.

The first equipment upgrade I am very keen on sorting out is a laminar flow hood - That will make so much of this process significantly easier.

That is the interim plan, however, given my environmental conditions are less than ideal, I would ultimately like to have sterilised bags of twenty or so to work with at a time (as ultimately, one of the first rules is at every step possible, limit the potential for contamination).

But yeah - I am in fact going to go looking for some of those this weekend. :) Thanks.

My setup is the same but I have holes on each side covered with tape, I still do fresh air exchange in fruiting.

As for the laminar that would be awesome, you just need the hepa filter and a fan but I have no idea how much they cost. I am going to make a still air box for now.

You can order glass 60mm plate from glass world in JHB. We only use glass, it is the way!
Agar at Dischem.

This thread has inspired me to do work. Still a bit chicken to share here.
