The Sony X1 Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

Hey there guys just got my x1 wow what a phone, enjoying it installed tomtom working a treat (thanks marine1:)) also installed Remote desktop works great only one problem have any of you guys used rdp my numeric keys dont work, any ideas
 
Um, dont know what i did, but my phone is does not vibrate anymore.. even at startup, it doesnt vibrate, or when i select a new panel? help?

EDIT: Just saw on XDA that a few users there have also had an issue with the vibrate unit not working anymore... just packed up? anyone else have this issue... ?i fear i have to take it in to be replaced...

EDIT EDIT: Found this on XDA: Found out that the problem was HTorch. I used it for only a few minutes on high power and it melted the Led on top of the vibrator motor and locked it down. Heed these words, comrades. Take special care not to use htorch on its bright setting. cheers

I used my htorch last night for a loooong time... looks like it burnt the vibrating module... **** IT!!!! So upset...

Hey Guys

Big problem - i just did the software update via SE, and now I can't transfer files between my phone and PC. All I get from plugging it into my USB is charging.

Any ideas? Some help please.

but if anyone wants a black x1, i just saw mtn in eco park has stock, 4 to be exact
im not sure if vc has any, but i hope so cos i want a black one!

which firmware have you guys been using?
i see the sa version has been removed from the xda site?

I am using the generic UK.. i have a copy of the vodacom sa one on my pc for warrantee issues... good idea to try make a backup of your phone.. (instructions on xda)...
 
hey what screen protectors are you guys using? cant seem to decide
and where did u get it?

Stupid question

Whick one do I download
qvga
wvga
wqvga

all ones ive downloaded have failed :(

and regarding screen protector
I use the Invisible shield. takes a few minutes to apply but after that it is great and free lifetime replacement too!!!!!
 
I have downloaded the first one WVGA and it works on mine but now have a problem when ppl phone me i cant see who is calling to trying, and the new keyboard is the problem.... so trying to see if there is a fix for it.
 
anyone having trouble accessing their smses?
i cant seem to get into it to read it, i also dont get any notfication or sounds for sms
it just sits there sayin the icon with an unread sms and i cant read it??????
touchscreen or navigation with keypad no result. it works fine for the other stuff
 
love my x1 and did the tomtom thing but cant get intouch with marine can anyone help me with the maps thing?? am addicted to the ball game !!
 
yeah i sat in a queue the other day at home affairs and played that silly ball game for hours
totally hooked
