got a cool sms backup program, just export the file to ur sd card and import when u got a new rom
the programs are mission tho, load each one as i need it
lemme no if u find something better

ill post the link to the sms when i find it

Hey Guys

I ended up taking my phone to MTN Canal Walk on Saturday and was told its gonna be minimum of 6 weeks for my phone to be repaired, it goes to JHB supposedly.

Even starting for a stand in for now ( suggestions??? lol).

Lets hope it gets fixed.
 
the guys i took my phone to said they are the only level 3 repair centre in the country, so they prob sending it to them.
wats wrong with ur phone?

Well it started last week when i slid open to use the qwerty the screen just goes black and if i leave it like that for a while the phone would switch off. I noticed if i closed it again and press the power button the screen comes back but thats no use as i am not able to the qwerty.

Well its in for repairs now hopefully i don't get any stupid excuses from them.
 
question for the guys that have installed Valkryie 2.5.
I've done the Hard spl and when i go to the bootloader it give me all the correct info so that tells me that is has been changed from the original.

I've put the re-named the file (.nbh) and copied onto the SD card and rebooted.

The phone goes into the bootloader, says loading image and hangs ?

How long do I have to wait for it to load ?

I've waited 10 mins and then gave up.
 
you say youve labelled it .nbh . can you confirm you have labelled it Kovsimg.nbh ?
and then where is it sitting on your memory stick? it must just be in root
 
Yes, I did the correct name change, cleaned the SD completely and put the renamed file to the root directory.

It loads the file, but that is where is gets stuck.

The screen says loading.....
 
me wonders if your hardspl went a bit pear shaped .....
 
jis im sure this rings a bell, this happened to me too and i kicked myself when i worked it out
 
Thats what i'm thinking as well, 2.6 is currently being downloaded.
Coz when I go to the bootloader, it gives me the info to tell me that I have indeed done the Hard spl correctly.

Ok, I've think i've narrowed it down.
The hard spl is not right. It has all the right words and numbers but Olinex is missing.
This means my hard spl install is not right.
Am I correct ?

So now I want to hard spl again.
when the device is bootloader mode, windows recognises it, but when it goes to the grey load screen, windows does not recognise it.

It comes up under unknown device, where as in bootloader mode it come up under usb sync device.

My assupmtion is that when this happens, my pc cannot read or write to the device, and the hard spl is not being completed.

any way to fix this ?

I have .net 3.5 installed as well as the 2.xx version the hardspl program needs to run ?
 
I had the same problem but mine was that I left the rom file (.nbh) in the root directory of the sd card and the HARDPSPL did not want to work. Deleted the rom file and I could upgrade the spl again.
 
if it doesnt say xxx.olinex i think it is still on the stock spl

try this:
go into bootloader without plugging in usb cable
once in tricolour screen connect the cable
the white bar should then change from usb to serial on ur phone
run the rom update utility

this is how i did mine last week when i couldnt get the stock spl back on
