On FireStorm 3.6.53 now - not sure if I'm liking it very much tho.

SMSs aren't threaded correctly. Anyone else have this?

Managed to flash stock Vodacom Rom and Stock SPL back onto the phone so from a warranty standpoint all should be good, just hoping that they fix the dam thing...

Sorry for the late reply

I am still patiently waiting lolol they did say that its will probably take about 6-8 weeks. I am also hoping ( fingers crossed) that they dont see that the hardspl it still loaded as i was unable to reload the stock SPL.

Out of interest John0 how did you manage to load the stock SPL with your touch screen not working?

The same way that you normally do it, don't need to touch the screen to get it to sync with the pc, it actually syncs while the "Tap the screen to setup your windows mobile based device" screen is showing.

The weird thing about mine is that when the screen starts fading i can tap the screen and the screen brightens up again so it is kinda registering taps....

Mine did/does exactly the same thing just the touch interface didnt work.

I actually just got a call from them this evening so me gonna be going tomorrow hopefully to collect and see what i get back.

Surprised how soon they managed to fix so i am guess its a easy fix or they gave me a new phone(fingers crossed :-) )

I shall see and keep u guys updated.

Hey guys

Which ROMs are you guys currently running, I'm still on FireStorm 3.6.53 and not really enjoying as its somewhat unstable.

Any suggestions?
 
I been running WinMo 6.1 R3AA for months coz i was afraid to test other ROMs out, till my phone went to VodaCare and came back flashed anew.
I tried Leo6.5, was too buggy for me, liked the interface and all, but application and functionality wern't up to scratch for me.
Now im testing out A WinMo 6.5 ROM called Christian. Very nice and smooth so far, think ill stay on this.
 
Just a little update

I got my phone back – Fixed :-)

Not luck with getting a new cover though but good thing is they never seem to see that my phone still had the hardspl loaded.

I asked the guy at MTN what the problem was but all he could tell me they did a software update but i can be certain cause the Rom that i found installed was R2AA and that the rom i installed before sending the phone in so i dunno.
 
quick question Guru....

i downloaded a file from htcpedia and it was called "Touch-IT Leo7.0_Build23060.7z" just was wondering if this file is compressed or do you just need to rename it kovsimg.nhb.

The file is 144mb in size

If its compressed what can i use to uncompress the file??

These files are normally rar files so you would need an unzip program like winzip or winrar. You can't just rename the file.
 
Hey Zero

Dippy is actually right on this one hey. The files are compressed using 7zip, hence the .7z extension. I extracted using WinRAR and it worked like a charm.
 
So what is the latest and sleekest roms that you guys are using nowadays?

I am using Itje Touch It Leo 7.0

I find it ok some quibbles but all the roms have something that we not gonna like.

So what news, good and stable out there :-)
 
im still using valkyrie firestorm. some old version 3.something
want to get a new one this next week or so
so also very interested in the latest roms

wonder wheres kvi? maybe having fun with android?
