General
  • FOV: Sliders are now available in Settings that allow players using first person or third person to adjust their FOV.

Performance and Stability
  • [PC ONLY] Improved stability for Intel Arc GPUs.
  • Various additional stability and performance improvements.

The Bethesda quirks are getting to me. I suppose I should drop the obligatory "I've played this for many hours and I'm enjoying it for the most part" that people feel the need to when criticism is mentioned.

Bug 1

Doing some random mission where I have to go mine 6 rocks. I head to the marker points and surprise - there are no rocks. The fix: Go to Venus, sleep for a few hours, then go back and the rocks will be there. This "fix" wasn't as smooth as I would have liked it to be, as the game kept crashing. But eventually it worked.

Bug 2

Was doing another mission (operation starseed?) and I had to go back to the planet to go talk to some lady. Land on the planet, hear the main oke say there is an emergency and we must all go to him. I first go to the chick and she won't speak to me - says I must talk to this oke first. Surprise ****ing surprise - the oke is in side a building, the door to get to him is closed and inaccessible. You can see the marker point on him moving around, but I can't speak to him.

I spent ages trying to get around this one, but now I've given up. I managed to get him out of the room by making everyone angry with me, but I can't stop them from shooting me, so I am stuck.

Bug 3

I was doing some mission where I had to talk to an oke. But for some reason he kept on getting shot to ****. Every time that happened, he would get in the fetal position and I could not talk to him. I tried reloading, going out of doors and back in. That sort of worked - because he would be back alive. But moments later, he was angry and shooting, and kept dying.

I went back to that mission hours later, and he finally let me speak to him.

Other Frustrations

I was doing some mission where some unfriendly okes were spawning in a crowded area and I had to run to my ship with my crew. It was a bit intense. Unfortunately a lot of NPCs were caught in the crossfire, so naturally I got a bounty on my head.

Andrea got pissed off with me and disappeared for a short while. I still don't know what I did, but googling tells me I must have killed someone I shouldn't have. She is back now. We are BFF's.

I had a lot of heat a few missions ago and I was trying to find a safe space to pay my bounties. I docked to a station I thought was friendly. They were not. Barrett started shouting at me and was not pleased at me because THEY started attacking me as soon as I spawned.

The security guards are sometimes naked. It's so random.

And lord oh lord, them loading screens. I used to do the whole chain of run to ship >> take off >> perhaps have some encounter >> jump to another planet >> land thing. Now I fast travel. I just can't face the sheer amount of loading screens anymore.

It truly amazes me, that a good 8 years after Fallout 4, we are doing exactly what we needed to do in Fallout 4 and google our way out of bugs. You certainly couldn't launch this game without the internet existing as no one would know what the hell to do when the inevitable bug hits you.

Touch wood but I haven't had any of those types of bugs yet. The only predominant one I have is more like a feature.

If I go into scanner view all NPCs with quests tied to them are marked, so its kinda hard to spot the one I am actively pursuing. At least when I focus on them it has the quest text under the marker.

As for Bountys, I have a kiosk in my outpost where I can pay & clear them. One of the 1st things I placed inside.

Apparently there's a cheat (console command) you can use to place objects - specifically placing a furniture terminal or something on your ship then allows you to use your ship as an outpost build area. So you can just have a bounty and mission terminal on your ship at all times. Haven't done it yet, but I've started playing with some of the mods which break limits, so I might try this.

Saw this but staying away from the console for my 1st playthrough. Will do mods and all other crap once I hit NG+ as I want as vanilla as I can get completion 1st.

Which was a great idea if you literally didn't get that incoming / freezing weather but without any method to repair and reload because a) the bug and b) my saves was missing for some odd reason when I started up, and well I had to un**** myself via the console. So well, you can guess what was the result of that. However, I still had shitloads of fun with the title.

Yea I did the same, only started messing around with NG+.

I now have like 12 engines and far too many weapons. It is glorious.
You should if you haven't do a tiny build; that is as small as possible with c-engine, grav drive, shield, cockpit and docker.

I built one of those and then I was like this ship has no purpose at all. So then I built a monster instead :D

No man it is your stint fighter, I do like my tiny ship but I also like something bigger like (another ship I made, but this time with automated turrets on the rear)....

And here I am, amazed at how many have finished the game! I'm only on level 24, continually running around in a distracted and unfocused manner

Focus, Padawan!

But that's a great way to play, I played most of my first playthrough like that. Skipped Ryujin and Crimson Fleet though, so I still have those to look forward to.

The way I play, it takes me 500 hours just to finish. Feeling a bit sad that this game isn't quite what I was hoping for, like something's missing (even though I am enjoying it). On the upside, less addictive gaming causing me issues ;)

The biggest bug I currently experience is getting stuck all the freaking time. Either being under something or under a ship but the cant get out. Or between a wall and something on the floor. Or between two rock or a rock and a tree... etc.
Flippen annoying!

I had two unsolvable in the end:

New atlantis was ****ed, so where you land at the space port there's no floor from certian area onwards and you can't use the lift down to the well.

Sometimes I would load without anything and would be a floating cam. This sometimes happened as I was in the cockpit saved and exited the game.

How do you manage that? I've never gotten stuck. I do find myself being unable to run sometimes because there's a pebble the size of a cricket ball in front of my feet, wholly obstructing my progress. But a good jetpack sorts that out for me.

Also, in case you guys don't know. If you assign your secondary jump button to something else (I use Left Alt), then space bar will still jetpack you vertically as it does, but the Left Alt one will propel you forward, much faster way of traversing planets and such.
