When one's quiver is emtpy of factual quarrels, one arms one's argument with insults instead.

We all know that PropoGanda is your only support structure in another thread. ;)

So sad that because of russia's indiscriminately bombing of civilians and kids these related threads are void of the normal MyBB Islamic/muslim outcry against hurting the kids and civilians. ;)

But apparently you don't seem to be aware of the fact that the truth doesn't need a support structure of any kind.

That's cuz Russia doesn't have a history of demonising Muslims. If they did, I'm sure people would be bleating all over the place about how the horrible Russkies are Islamophobes.

That's cuz Russia doesn't have a history of demonising Israel. If they did, I'm sure people would be bleating all over the place about how the horrible Russkies are Jewishphobes.

FTFY ;)

Israel has a large Russian-speaking (Russian Jews) population which is very active in their politics. Russia also have a military agreement with Israel.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel–Russia_relations

The Russian language also have a big role in Israel,

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_language_in_Israel

I stand pretty much with what OrbitalDawn said,

The regional powers need to take responsibility and sort ISIS out. The Saudis, Turkey, Iran, etc have massive standing armies. As someone else pointed out, these nations are using this conflict to pursue out their own political agendas.

In the end, threads like these tend to go mud-slinging.

U.S.-backed Syrian rebels appeal for antiaircraft missiles

By Liz Sly and Andrew Roth October 2

BEIRUT — U.S.-backed rebels in Syria appealed to the Obama administration Friday for anti*aircraft missiles to defend their positions against relentless Russian airstrikes that have so far mostly targeted the moderate opposition to President Bashar al-Assad’s rule.

A joint statement issued by the United States and other Western allies who have collectively aided moderate rebel units urged Russia to stop targeting moderate rebels and “to focus its efforts on fighting ISIL,” the acronym referring to the Islamic State.

U.S. officials indicated that there is no immediate plan to offer additional assistance to the rebel units that have been armed and trained under a covert CIA-led program aimed at supporting moderate groups and weakening Assad’s hold on power.

The covert operation is separate from a much-publicized Pentagon program to train a force to fight the Islamic State that has so far produced no more than four or five loyal fighters, and it is widely credited with having helped rebel advances* over the past six months in the areas now being targeted by the Russians.

Syrian insurgents vow to attack Russian forces as Moscow hints at ground role

The 41 groups are reacting against Moscow’s air war but a senior official says Russian fighters from Ukraine ‘can’t be stopped’ from fighting for Assad regime.

More than 40 Syrian insurgent groups have vowed to attack Russian forces in retaliation for Moscow’s air campaign, in a show of unity among the usually fragmented rebels against what they called the “occupiers” of Syria.

The 41 Syrian rebel groups, which included powerful factions such as Ahrar al-Sham, Islam Army and the Levant Front, said Russia had joined the war in Syria after president Bashar Assad’s forces were on the verge “of a crushing defeat”.

The insurgents’ warning came as the chairman of Russia’s parliamentary defense committee suggested that Russian “volunteer” units could join with forces fighting for Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad.

Vladimir Komoyedov, the former commander of the Black Sea fleet told the Interfax news agency that Russians who had previously fought alongside rebels in eastern Ukraine “can’t be stopped” from going to fight for the Assad regime.

“A unit of Russian volunteers, conflict veterans, will probably appear in the ranks of the Syrian army,” Komoyedov said. “What brings volunteers there besides the cause? Of course it’s probably money.”

lol...

@Xarog

What did I tell you in another thread couple of days ago? LOL
You said two weeks, too. So when in two weeks it turns out that the Guardian was reporting idle comments of a single person that are of no consequence in terms of Russia's actual engagement strategy, are you going to come on here and post for everyone to see how you were wrong?

To start with this is not some random dude, this guy is the chief of defence commitee in russian parliament and he was giving an official comment to a state (!) news agency .

But anyways, I will come and post here in two weeks about the progress of russian ground forces in Syria.

And he was talking specifically about irregular volunteers. But see you in two weeks.

U.S. sees Russia readying ground campaign in Syria

The latest U.S. assessment of Moscow's activity in western Syria indicates Russia has moved several ground combat weapons and troops into the area to potentially back up Syrian forces in the field planning to attack anti-regime forces, according to two U.S. defense officials.

The U.S. views the move as Russia "stepping up its ground activity" in Syria to attack those forces, rather than ISIS elements, according to one of the officials.

It's believed the Russians are positioning the weapons to be able to support a Syrian ground offensive, the officials said.
