The Tattoo Thread

Have another two planned after this one but not set on any ideas just yet.

Current design is still in process but it will be very much based off of these examples I gave them and what I want from it.

Going on the right inner forearm.

oooh nice.

I want this one. But MR Mila isn't a fan of body art. 593b53ebfce8ae24b9f633ade00118c3.jpg

So maybe I'll compromise:

That last one with the small flower is really nice. Wife has been looking for something similar for her second one. Going to show her that one.

She was actually eyeing this exact one but with the words "Let it be"

It's very elegant.

Careful with tattoos with such delicate lettering. It does tend to bleed over time. Been strongly advised against these types of tattoos.

I was going to make a comment on all the fine line tattoos in the last few pages. I'd like to see how they hold up after a few years. Fine line work on tiny tattoos like that just don't last.

Bold will hold

Oh that is just the example she loves. Mostly the flower. The wording will be in a much thicker font like her first one.

Also advised against the fine line wording by her artist back then.

Great. Very relieved to hear that.

Also love the flower. I have a strong attraction to water colours. Thinking about getting something like this done:

I have a weird thing about tattoo placement on the body. If I do something, it will need to be part of a half sleeve, and not sure how to incorporate that into a half sleeve. My eternal hunt for the perfect tattoo shall therefore continue.

^ That is a nice concept.

Yeah I also struggle with the placement and incorporation of the next artwork piece a bit. Over time I would also like to turn my pieces into a sleeve but not sure how it will all go together in the end. But I trust my studio will be able to put it all together.

I feel weird getting the MDot tattoo. Feels like I am putting a corporate logo on my body. Hence why I prefer that type of tattoo.

P.S. Happy training. 6 months to go (even less if you have a long taper) :wtf:

yeah but if you dont do the M logo how will everyone else at gym know you did Ironman. I mean all the clues they will have will be the Ironman branded, Backpack, Finisher T-Shirt, Slops, Towel and Swim cap. I mean give them a chance

You forgot the IM branded water bottle... Tsk tsk.

Harvard and MIT researchers have developed smart tattoo ink capable of monitoring health by changing color to tell an athlete if she is dehydrated or a diabetic if his blood sugar rises.

The Dermal Abyss tattoo inks change color according to the chemistry of the body’s interstitial fluid, which can be used as a surrogate for constituents of the blood. Inks developed so far change from green to brown as glucose concentration increases. The team also developed a green ink, viewable under blue light, that grows more intense as sodium concentration rises, an indication of dehydration. Researchers tattooed the inks onto segments of pig skin and noted how they changed color or intensity in response to different biomarkers.

Jiang and Yetisen said that once the bugs are worked out, the applications for biologically-sensitive ink are fairly broad. Inks, Yetisen said, could be incorporated into long-lasting tattoos for chronic conditions or into temporary designs for shorter-duration monitoring. Ink can even be invisible, Yetisen said, readable under only particular kinds of light. That light could come from something as ubiquitous as a smartphone.
