So far I'm underwhelmed with mygaming's editorials.
That was a terrible article to even attempt.
So far I'm underwhelmed with mygaming's editorials. They scored Empire: Total War 68% when Metacritic gives it 90. The reviewer was trying to play it with a frickin 8800gts 320. Then he calls his other machine with an 8800gt and 2gb ram a 'gaming monster'. Good grief.
Scrupulously fair. I would give it a lower score - I stopped playing after one game, and am not sure it will EVER be fixed into something worth playing. Most of the other reviews out there are crap.
A bug filled mess. Numerous CTDs even on the most powerful computers. A half-finished product released in beta-format without any real regard for the consumer or the industry.
OMG! A true review of Empire Total War!
I for one, salute you sir!
Every one of the points in "where it goes wrong" section I have experienced. I have a lovingly hand-built kick-butt gaming rig too. And don't get me started on the STEAM-only release decision...
A very, very fair review and one of the first honest reviews I`ve seen since the game came out.
You missed that the Campaign AI can`t do naval invasions btw, but well done overall.
Well, I'd give it 98%.
Your review that is, the game is exactly as you scored it. One thing in its favour mind you - it is better than Stormrise. Oops.
If anything you are too kind. Its not an 85+ without the CTD's and such, the gameplay is poor too. 70 tops.
Great stuff dude your review is amazingly fair and one of the very few not full of utter marketing crap. Well done and keep writing!
Congratulations on an honest review. You forgot to add that the AI can't do sea born invasions, they don't seem to know how.
This is just from what I've read though as although my machine meets the minimum specs it won't get past the battle load screen lol.
Great solid review
Indeed, a thousand pardons. I was just peeved at a particular mygaming article recently.Firstly, this is not MyGaming editorial, so I am not sure why you are even bringing it up.
Secondly, if you actually look at the comments that followed the review of I wrote of Empire: Total War you will find that many people agreed with the low score I gave it.
Your logic seems to be that MyGaming's editorial is bad because it is not always inline with what the mass media at large is saying, which I find troubling. Have you looked at the user review score of the game? It is currently sitting on an average of 7.2...
It makes me wonder about reviewers in general.
As for the PC used, a Quad Core with 2GB of ram and an 8800GT may not be particularly high-end, but it is still far more powerful than what the majority of PC gamers are using.
But I take your point, perhaps calling it a monster was a bit inaccurate![]()
