Damn, that 2.2 XL double cab for R267k is a steal. I thought that the pre-facelifts at R299 were good, but this is really great from Ford.

Exactly. Ford Credit offers are steals. I bought an Ecosport for my wife last via a Ford Credit offer. Financed R190k when they were retailing for R223k. Paid repayments for 12 months and then settled it. PROFIT!

SA TUNER SUPERCHARGES V6 TOYOTA HILUX TO 327 KW
"A Randburg-based tuner has turned its attention to the eighth-generation Toyota Hilux, strapping on a supercharger to boost the V6 petrol engine’s output to 327 kW.
RGMotorsport reckons this makes its creation “quite possibly the fastest double-cab bakkie in Africa”. In addition to the extra 152 kW on tap, the 4,0-litre V6’s peak torque figure climbs from 376 N.m to a meaty 545 N.m, while the zero to 100 km/h sprint time falls from 9,4 to 7,1 seconds. Top speed? RGM reckons 227 km/h.
But the tuner says the modified Hilux’s “stand-out” feature is its newfound flexibility, claiming an 80 to 160 km/h time of 12,2 seconds, some 10 seconds down on the standard 4×2 automatic double-cab.
The dash from 60 to 120 km/h, meanwhile, takes a claimed six seconds, compared to 9,6 seconds for the version direct from Toyota’s showroom.
The conversion includes a standalone radiator system that provides coolant for the liquid chargecooler as well as a Unichip piggyback ECU.
So, how much will this conversion – which, incidentally, can also be applied to the new Fortuner – set you back? Well, RGM says the price starts at R105 000. Of course, you’ll have to wave goodbye to your Toyota SA warranty…"

That seems excessive... and you have to be rolling in it, not to care about your warranty on a vehicle like this, while dropping that kind of cash on the mod.

Were Fords and Mazdas that bad back in the day? My Dad had a Ford Meteor and it seemed solid enough.
The T6 Ranger is an amazing vehicle, and at these prices I'd take one over a Hilux any day.
Sheesh, get out of the 90's! One could harp on how Opel discontinuing Astra and other models affected resale, but I digress.

Don't get me going on the Fazda range that SAMCOR crap that was produced in the early 90's - horrible cars, badly put together, with possibly one saving grace, in that the Mazda based engines were terrific. Based on those cars Ford/Mazda deserves the same sort of reputation that French cars have in SA.

My first car that I got for my 19th birthday was a proper Fazda. Bantam 1600i - gearbox failed in the first 6 months but after that it was all good until I wrecked it 4 years later.

BS, serious on paper, but have you ever seen an RGM modded car perform head to head with a different tuner? They charge an arm and a leg and dont deliver.
