The Toyota Hilux Thread

TOYOTA'S THE ONLY MANUFACTURER TO GET DOUBLE-DIGIT SALES
• New Hilux is once again SA's best-selling vehicle in July

Buyers snapped up 3 153 new Hiluxes in July, making it SA's favourite vehicle and eclipsing its nearest bakkie competitor by more than 840 sales. This helped lift Toyota's new vehicle sales to 10 224, or 3 410 deliveries clear of the second-placed motor manufacturer. This equates to an overall market share of 22,7 per cent.
As Calvyn Hamman, Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing at Toyota SA Motors points out, "what's even more enlightening is that 23 per cent of all dealer sales for the month can be attributed to a Toyota, Lexus or Hino franchise, which effectively means that every fourth vehicle sold via the total dealer channel, is one of ours."

EuroNCAP has released crash test results for the all-new Toyota Hilux.

In standard guise, as sold in South Africa, the Hilux achieved a three-star rating. It should, however, be noted that as per new testing criteria, the difference between a three- and five-star rating can come down the fitment of modern safety features such as lane-assist and collision warning systems (available in the Ford Ranger), rather than any structural deficiencies.

Watch the video above or follow this link for the full report.

I see them everywhere...Toy is making a killing! Very competent bakkie as well. I like them...not a fan of the "over bite" though.

Must be a PTA thing then. Between MY2016 Ranger model vs MY2016 Hilux models in Cape Town there is a noticeable "gap".

50-50 here in EL for facelift Rangers versus new Hilux. With regards to single cab workhorse - there is a much larger amount of Rangers on our roads than Hilux. Heck, I bought 4x Ranger 2.2 base models last month....

Would have probably received the full 5 stars if it weren't for that godawful pre-millenial clock...
