1. All accounts get SHAPED and/or THROTTLED to death... Yet its clearly stated on their website you would never been THROTTLED. During the day my speed seldom exceed 40kbps on a 4mb account

2. Only "ISP" that don't keep track of your usage, but LOTS of OW accounts are being SHARED. I got the proof of my account being shared

3. Access to http://userstats.adsl.saix.net/ & http://users.isdsl.net/ blocked and they are lying about usage stats when they are in fact correct and because it was too easy to see account sharing and correct usage, another lie

3. Resell IS, MTN etc products and thus don't need an office as most of their stuff are done by IS etc anyway. Its called "ISP in a Box". They buy "X" amount of gigs per month from IS, MTN etc and manage it as they see fit, thus the endless types of specials and account types.

4. Only got a handful of employees - Leon, Zelda, Leoni, Charmaine. Athol and Keoma the members of the CC.

5. They use various names - OpenISP, Openweb, Myopenweb etc.

6. Committed FRAUD with their CIPRO registration using a false address etc.

10. Blaming Telkom/router for everything yet accounts with other ISP's are working 100%

12. Their MyBB accounts stopped responding the 9th of May.

13. "I'm afraid due to the destructive nature of the forum, we have suspended support here." The answer I got from OW about MyBB.

They also kept sending me invoices for months and months after I cancelled my account :erm:

Voted with my wallet.............moved to the IS www.connection.co.za account.........download around the same for 40 bucks cheaper.....and i know EXACTLY what star rating i am all the time.

You guys must learn to stop moaning and just show them using your wallets, i moaned for months until i realized they dont care. i was even threatened by Athol as they would have to "expose" what i was downloading if they investigated. needless to say all those 2 clowns need is 1 big fat smack to the face with a 2x4.
 
Not sure why I still get their silly emails, but whatever.

They need to change the mails they send out if it's for a new month ;)

Hi Guys

Should have read the ADSL forums before signing up with OpenWeb. Used them for about a year now and it was OK.

However, recently, they have been absoloutely horrible. They are the WORST in terms of providing proper accounts.

Line keeps dropping constantly and they seem to rotate me between a couple of accounts.

Cancellations department is horrible and have a standard response of one calendar month even though they have not provided a proper service.

DO NOT sign up with them! I signed up with Axxess and am much happier.

I think most, if not all, customers have experienced this in the past 12 months.

He will call you troll that's what he called us, his old customers asking legitimate questions , who supported him in his sketchy business practices.
 
I have been on a sabbatical regards MyBB since my Crystal Web account is flawless and have had no reason to moan.

With all due respect I WILL NOT accept an OW account - trial or not, even if I was paid to.

They suggest that they have changed their network structure, but they need to change their support staff as well. You just need to search this sub-forum, and you will see their snotty attitude towards their customers ( The people who pay their salary!!!) as if they are doing us a favour.

I will not touch them with a barge pole even if Jacob Zuma's ADSL modem was connected to it!
 
I use to be an openweb customer until my unshaped uncapped account could not open up my google mail. I left and went to afrihost. No complaints so far. I am getting exactly what I am paying for.

Go and post your comments on their pages where they have posted because you can't post things, but you can comment. ;)

I think we need to share all the badness of OW! :)
