The Walking Dead [SPOILERS]

Incredible episode. I had a lump in my throat when it ended.
 
Great episode! .. and now the agonizing wait until Feb for the next episode :(

It could be possible that he survived somehow, why did they explicitly show hershel being decapitated but did not show the bullet to the governor's head but rather just implied it. They've left the story open for his return if they so wish.
 
I wonder how many strepsils these guys go through, this growly/breathy batman voice by everyone is really pissing me off...

Even that episode couldn't save this series for me... Gov will be back, didn't see him die and no body when they zoomed out after seeing his chess piece get stood on.

Did they show the Governor put a bullet through the little girl's head?
 
Ja, I'm finding this season difficult watching!! As a father and a avid pet owner I'm finding the deaths and the plight of the children rather harrowing! Also the episode where Rick slaughtered the piglets left me feeling depressed.

It certainly didn't depress me at all.

Except the little girl is not an important character and bringing her back would serve no point, to have the governor appear again in a future episode or in the cross over series however would give the show a good new story arc. Even Michonne didn't kill him when she had the chance, I really doubt the girlfriend could have managed it.

The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Morrissey in London to discuss the Governor's fate and having his own Death Dinner alongside Wilson.

What was the conversation like when you found out the Governor would be killed off in the midseason finale?

I did get the death call [from Scott] and it's always a sad one. I knew the Governor wasn't someone who was going to be in it forever. I was very sad because I loved being in the show and working with everybody. Then the double whammy of also being the person who brings Scott Wilson's participation to an end was really heavy. All the episodes are all very demanding and shocking, and we had that at the end of last season when Laurie Holden (Andrea) and Michael Rooker (Merle) were both killed. It's something we go through on The Walking Dead and it's hard when it's other people, but it's just as tough when it's yourself.

Did you know you'd only really be in three episodes?

I didn't. Scott said I'd come in to the season late, but I didn't know when or how late. But he said episode four or five, so I had a ballpark figure in my head about when. But he wasn't specific about how many episodes I'd be in. I didn't know it would be three or four. I knew I wouldn't get to the end of the season. None of us know until we actually read the episodes how long we've got. I only knew that I was going just before the delivery of episode eight. That's when I knew.

I had about given up on The Walking Dead, it had become bloody pedestrian...so much so, did not watch the last episode before the mid season finale....that being said, OMG, what a mid season finale...I thought the Game of Throne's episode, The Rains of Castamere...was epic, The Walking Dead is right up there...glad the sick **** found his end!
 
Awesome, awesome mid season finale!!! My wife screamed when the Governor killed Herschel, and then she was in tears.

Also, you guys should really watch (download) The Talking Dead, really cool after-show that gives some insights into each episode. After episode 8, they had a short interview with David Morrissey (The Governor), so we knew he was dead. And there's lots of facts about the episodes as well.
 
Indeed, that was an incredible mid-season finale! The **** really did go down.

I'm left wondering what happened to little Judith.

I'm also left wondering why they don't make themselves a mofo armoured truck Land of the Dead style to blast their way through any zombies.
 
Good on the Governors lady friend for capping his tnuc ass.
I couldn't believe the way he sat their hacking away at Herschel's head.

But this episode once again reiterated my original point about Rick.
He's a p*ssy of the highest caliber.
Comes limping into the prison sobbing and bleeding everywhere.
"Carl!!! Carl!!! Carl!!!"

Carl saves his life and he proceeds to sob on his shoulder.
Who is the dad/adult in that relationship?
Carl has become the stable, controlled family member whilst Rick has fallen apart countless times.

One thing I also don't get is how confident Carl was that he could take the Governor out with his trusty rifle.
When all hell breaks loose why did he not take the Governor out?
All the ppl in the prison just start screaming and shooting blindly.

I dunno, he did have the stuffing beaten out of him and then found his daughter had been taking by walkers.
 
He only found his daughter once Carl had saved him.
Before that he was a sniffling lump of tears.
Even the way he hugged Carl it panned to Carl's face and he seemed almost disinterested.
