That's what I first thought as well. I think he was just depressed and not really as happy as he was pretending to be in front of his girlfriend.

Remember he was really depressed in the last series.

So they went after that car. I assume whoever's in that car is not part of the cannibal group.

Yep that was the last time. Then Daryl hooked up with another group that Rick had an encounter with previously.
